you will agree sachin, atleast fiat has asked you to send them your vehicle and are trying to solve the issue, with my earlier swift,i was robbed of spares every time my car went to the ASS(even the perfume and cds),after service new problems would have been created, and they gave me huge billls, till now,for my linea, for 12000km i have spent only 240rs,that too for orvm chenage, but for a similar period,i had spent 5400rs for my swift,2200rs-1st free service,3200rs-2nd free service,so its not rosy with other manufacturers too,i had inumerable fault with my swift, powerwindows switches falling off repeatedly, door handle coming in your hand etc,not that am convincing you,but no manufacturer is better

Ya I agree Bala ... But selling a DEFECTIVE car .... thats what FIAT has done .... It had been sent to the plant once ... this is the second time they want me to do so .... I was asking for a replacement as it could not be repaired at the plant for the first time ...... was still happy with FIAT ..... I was not asking my money back ....... But even now they are not confidently saying that the problem will be resolved ..... and if not then what will they do .... ask me to send the vehicle to the plant again .... and then again ........

and why should anyone use a car which was not been able to be repaired even at the Plant where it was manufactured.....

Hi Sachin. I totally agree to your views and i cant help but pray for your problem to be resolved at the earliest.

Also, since you are already a part of PUG, why dont you try reaching Mr. Mangesh of FIAT. I'm sure that MN, our moderator in PUG will be able to help you in this regard.

Drop a mail to Mangesh and Kaushik. Call Kaushik on Tel: +91-22-67293800, Fax: +91-22-25226326 and take it up with him. Numbers are of Fiat's office in Chembur, Mumbai.

Fact remains that the person has paid huge amount and is not getting to use his car which is the objective of his buying the car.So in my view Fiat should give him a replacement or if repair is taking time, then he should be given an alternative car free of cost till such time repair is doneAlso sachin shd ask for extension in warranty for that much time.

Sachin, Alternatively, you can also write in to What Car? mag. I have come across numerous issues related to ASS being addressed to them and issues being solved with their interference.

@Sachin, Its really heart breaking incident, since its on a new car. I think you are a victim of a defective car purchased and you are just unlucky being one. And in my opinion this can happen to any manufactures and no need of blaming FIAT, but the real problem is how quickly and effectively the customer is compensated in such kind of situations. The compensation is not entirely depends on the manufacture, as they try to do all steps to fix it rather replacing it.  So according to me it depends on the customer. You could've insisted for a new car much earlier. You have to find an advocate ASAP and issue a notice to manufacturer and dealer and ask for a new car and for compensation for the losses. It can make a difference. I guess you are sending the car again to the plant. In my opinion, don't wait till the car gets repaired and back. Before that issue a notice to FIAT and dealer immediately, then things will get faster and efficient.

Sachin,

I totally understand your frustration with Fiat for this issue. However, It is a case of faulty car. something definitely is wrong with the car and as done so far, they ave tried to look into smaller and more common issues first like balancing and alignment. As is the case with every diagnosis they will look into other less common and bigger problems with the car now.

Where they have been wrong are not doing proper test drives and seeing it themselves that the problem has not been corrected.

You have been very patient so far, but I would request you to be little more patient for now. before writing into consumer forums write a strong letter to Fiat top management and CC every id. you know related to customer care and marketing with Tata/Fiat. You have every right to demand that first and foremost you get a perfect car.

If they are able to resolve the issues succesfully, even then they must compensate you for your losses till date.

If they are unable to resolve the issue NOW, ask for a new car altogether. You have paid the full amount and you have every right to own a vehicle that is 100% alrigt.

If they do not agree to this and are still unable to resolve your issue, do take it up in the consumer court.

However, for the time being I would advice restraint and patience. Simply because this is not a common problem, so they might not know the cause of iihs problem. It might be something very different (like say an error in power sterring that is causing the vehicle to drift to one side and as the tyres wear out it gets compounded). It is just a thought, but there could be such a thing which even they are unable to foresee as it may not have happened in any other car before this. So give them some more time. You shoudl appreciate that your problem is being addressed to. Probably some arrogant fellow has given you the kind of replies as you hae mentioned earlier. In your letter to fiat mgmt. do mentione that fellow's name and demand an action against him/her as well.

I wish you all the best. Trust me it is a matter of bad luck. Problem with it being Fiat is that they don't sell too many vehicles and therefore do not get to many complaints to kow of all that could be wrong in your case.

Thanx Bijs ..... I have no other options left ... already sent the car for repairs ... BUT I have decided will write

"Regretting the decision of buying FIAT PUNTO....... I suggest go for any other car rater than this" .......

I am going to write this on the rear Glass of the car and use the car that way only... How good it will make to FIAT na ... great advtment on the product itself ... by a consumer........

Ok with the loss I have already incurred.
