While buying a car, one should not only look the front seat comforts and features. Rear seat is equally important in any car you buy. Linea, Laura and Cruze all lack rear seat comfort and head-room. Three ppl can not seat in this car as comfortably as I can seat in my Palio or Getz. Low slung structure is good for lower body roll, but for longer journey head-room, shoulder room and thigh support is equally important. So all these cars can not be THE BEST DIESEL SEDAN. If you give weightage to all these issues, MANZA will emerge as one of the leaders in the kitty. Though it is not the perfect in all the aspects, it has lots of value for money.

The shoulder room is available in Laura to seat 3 but the problem is the floor.  There is such a big rise in the middle that no one can sit there.

When we talk of Linea or Cruze the rear seat can comfortably seat 3 people even for long drives. The seats in Linea at the rear are positioned slightly higher and you dont need the additional leg room that is usually necessary in the low positioned seats as in Civic or City.

Of course when it comes to rear seat space Manza can not be beaten.

@ Satish....Good things always come at a price…n I guess so does this one! It is a fully feature loaded car which drives as you want it to… It has all the characteristics as a standard in its car which no other brand offers in the segment. I am completely awed by it.

dude dzire is a segment lower car when we compare it with the cars available in 8-10 lacks bracket.

rear seat comfort and rattleing issues make it one step behind when we search for BEST diesel SEDAN availabe in India.

Last but not the least...have you notice...none other than you have mention the DZIRE name when we all are debating on BEST DEISEL SEDAN IN INDIA.Tongue out

yes you are right I did not notice the 8-10 lac bracket, then there are too many choice, depends on the buyers mind setup.. for me it may be 1. Cruze 2. Lenia 3. SX4

Dude the only reason the Swift Dzire sells so such is the same as the Tata Indigo - low sticker price and a frugal diesel engine. I think people who buy cars like the Indigo and Dzire are most concerned about money - sticker price and running cost. Everything else comes second.

@ Sanya. I agree with you , but for Cruze just felt if it had slightly bigger feel in lines of Civic/Altis which are its main compititors in price sagment then it would have been steal.. But i do agree its fully loaded wich no other car has.

I know the post says 8-10 lakh but i cannot help mention that if the best diesel sedans dont include Manza, then the list is incomplete.. which one emerges a winner i dont know ... coz there are a few, each good its its own right... But to me the top end diesel version of Manza cannot be beaten in terms of the value it offers. The specs ( http://bit.ly/2Nf9mR ) have to be seen to be believed having said that the on road price goes to 7.5 lakhs or so..

Apart from that my favorite in 10 lakh segment wud be cruze.. its just so sexy !!

Yes as mentioned by Tarun , Manza is real diesel car which can definitely give rivals a run for their money. Also Cruze is a segment higher but as a overall package it is unbeatable at this price. Very soon i will take TD of both these as one of my friend is going to buy Cruze & one already has bought Manza.
