All,

Yesterday i had removed factory fitted horn for my Alto (as i felt it was very feeble and it is a single horn) and fitted a double horn from a local accessory shop. Until fitting it i didnt have any doubt Innocent

Now i am thinking of it.. Will it void my warranty (mine is 4months old vehicle). Also one fellow told the horn's fitted from outside will drain the battery soon. Did anyone know about this?

If it is a problem, i will revert back to company fitted one. Please help.

Get a relay for your horn, as the stock eclecticals are made to handle only single horn. Without relay you can fry your stock horn wires with prolonged use.

@Anshum,

Along with the horn he had added one more thing called cut-off (i dont remember full name). He told without that cut-off it will drain the battery.

I think the cutoff is same as relay as u say above. Am i correct?

Please confirm..

Hi Jey,

The cut-off?? yeah it is the relay Anshum was talking about...

and i dont think fitting double horn would tamper with your warranty, since the first thing i did with my alto was i got a roots-vibrasonic.... never had any issue with maruti guys..

Nik

The vibrosonic from Roots is an electronic horn, with very high sound frequency..(the hi-tone)..

To be more clear...vibrosonic is generally what you find in govt. vehicles...(down here in kerala often...dont knw abt ur city)...

For more info please see http://www.rootsindia.com/html/vibrosonic.html

Thanks

Nik!

Jey

the cut off is the same as a relay. it helps to source power directy from battery and reduces strain on main stock wiring.

Roots is a popular brand for horns. Vibrosonic is their horn's model.

what horn have u got btw?

relay ensures that full power of battery is delivered to horns for better sound also reducing strain on stock wiring as anshum said
