Manual tank-full to tank-full gives me 14-15 kmpl on highways (100% AC ON)

& within city, Mumbai B2B traffic, it gives 10 kmpl (100% AC ON at avg speed of 16 kmph only)

Linea's MID is quite accurate. Typically the difference comes only 4%-5% i.e. 0.3 to 0.5 kmpl difference when compared to manual tank-full method

That 30 kmpl, as I already mentioned earlier, was only for 25-30kms when I drove light-footed on Pune expressway. It started from 12 kmpl & once I decided to try driving light-footed, it starts quickly jumping up. Since its for short distance, it could be due to driving conditions & style. This is the highest I got for a short distance trip. Earlier highest was 18 kmpl within city in early morning when traffic is less

Please pardon me if my language appeared a bit aggressive. Your FE's are indeed impressive. I was only questioning the reliability of the FE displays. Genrally I have found that they are close to actual, but no where have I seen such high figure of 30? Even if you drive a car under ideal test conditions, no drag, same ideal revs, light weight etc. even then cars genrally dont turn up more than 18 - 20. So that appeared a bit too far fetched number.

I hve observed these numbers of Civic and Vitara and they seem pretty much close to actual to me.

OK. After reading your post once again, i can think of apossible explanation. you said you were getting around 12. I assume you might be accelrating then, and when you say, you started driving light fotted, i think the car must have built up some momentum and also probably you entred an area where you were going downhill. In such a scenario you get those high numbers.

Your review of Linea is appreciated. I have a Ford Fusion which I love dearly for its interior space and tall seating. I request you to elaborate a bit on the rear seating of the Linea. The experience of your family members/ friends using the rear seating is also welcome - I say this s because you are self-driven owner!

Regards,

As you mentioned, I've never experienced back seat myself being self-driven car. However, have done several long long trips & feedback from family members is that back seat are very comfortable. Other feedback from them is Rear AC vent is also quite useful though its small.

Edit Remark: Please do not quote preceding post (since deleted).

I did my 1st service at 3000-odd kms. Nothing major. The bill was Rs. 75/- Smile

During same time, one very important event happened.

I had never owned a Fiat earlier. And Fiat's earlier Palio stories did not make my decision-making process simpler either. So, was always skeptical about Fiat A.S.S.

Once I happened to notice a small plastic covering lying on floor of my Linea. I checked everywhere from where it has fallen down (later came to know its an "extra" thingy may be TASS mechanic left in my car as mine was intact). While searching I found an opening under driver seat where a very small plastic covering (not this one) was missing. Earlier reading on web/ forums about plastic quality & my skeptical perception of Fiat made my fuse blown. I extensively waged a war against Fiat detailing everything on a forum with an aggressive tone. Also sent a mail to ceodesk asking about Plastic Quality & I want to speak to a Fiat official about it.

Someone from Fiat Pune called imdtly & told me that their Corporate Quality Team will come & see my car in Mumbai & we fixed next Sunday at a TASS as I was to go there for 1st service. I called TASS on Sat & asked who is coming, TASS said they're not aware. Fuse again blown. Another mail asking for name of the person who is coming. ceodesk reverted imdtly with name of the person. I never believed that someone will come for such a small issue & TASS is also not aware about it.

Went to TASS on Sunday & got the 1st service work started. Corporate Quality person sure did come. And he came with every solution I asked for, every doubt I had. He was such a nice chap, spent 4-5 hours with me & his entire Sunday for a Rs. 25-30/- worth small Plastic cover. Which Manufacture would do it? Which company's ceodesk will get into reverting name of the person who is coming? That guy has helped subsequently also & is the single-handedly change my perception of Fiat & my perspective also.

What about wheel alignment, which is included in the first free check-up coupon?  Do we have to pay extra for that or is it FOC?

I think wheel alignment is not necessary at 3000. Yes, it is done free in 15000 Km service. I read one story where one of the early customer was charged somewhere 2000 or 2500 for diesel fuel filter and his email to Fiat about it. In my recent 15000 Km service, the cost of the fuel filter was somewhere 850 (forgot the exact change). I thought I would mention this somewhere, as some people would have read the other story somewhere as well.
