Hello Everyone,

I have booked my Swift VXI ( metalic Artic White).

I have got Mudflaps, Floor Mats and Engine Light as freebies.

I know for sure that the accessories bought from MGA are a rip off. I am looking at:

1) Taflon Coating ( any good shop in Mumbai? )

2) Sun Control Film ( Thinking of Gareware Primium. Specifications? Side, Rear and Front? How much dark is it legally permitted?)

3) Music System ( Thinking of Pioneer with JBL speakers...Anyother recommended at a low budget?  purpose is clear and good sound clarity even at high volume)

4) Parking Sensors.

5) Auto Cop ( ??)

Please help me out in specifications and technicalities, a good and reliable place to get these at a reasonable cost.

Hi

Recommended accessory shops around your place/City

1) Taflon Coating ( any good shop in Mumbai? )

Avoid it instead go for Anti Rust coating

2) Sun Control Film ( Thinking of Gareware Primium. Specifications? Side, Rear and Front? How much dark is it legally permitted?)

Go for 3M brand as it is really good and also RTA approved

3) Music System ( Thinking of Pioneer with JBL speakers...Anyother recommended at a low budget?  purpose is clear and good sound clarity even at high volume)

Audio System Budget Rs 14800

  • Head Unit - Pinoneer DEH-3190UB - Rs 5000 approx
  • Front Speakers -  JBL GTO608C - Rs 4500
  • Rear Speakers - JBL GTO947 or JBL GTO938 which ever fits u r budget - Rs 3500 approx
  • Fitting charges - Rs 500
  • Wiring - Rs 500
  • Wodden Plank - Rs 800

4) Parking Sensors.

Xenos are the leading brand.A SAFE REVERSE– Mirror Type 4 Sensors one would cost u Rs 3400

5) Auto Cop ( ??)

Security i would stick to Xenos as they are good.Xenos FW 200-4A Rs 4450 is the model u should go with

Hi Vincent,

I have recently book a new Swift VXI from Ratan Motors. The Dealer didnt give me any accessories, instead got a corporate discount of 3K. Where did u buy the vehicle from?

How much did it cost you, for me the on road price was 5,01,666 after discount.

I am totally new to the car world. Would like info from you, did you go for teflon coating, anti rust etc.

Any other accessories that u have opted from the dealer.

Your help is highly appreciated.

Hi Sandeep,

Welcome to Carwale.

I got my car from Fortpoint Thane with a Vashi Registration. On road price was around 4,80,000 + 5 K for 2 year Extended warrenty.

I got Mudflaps, Floor mats, Engine light and Steering Wheel as freebies ( After Hardcore Negotiation)

I have put an ICE and Sunflims for now. Will go for Seat covers next week. I intend to go for Anti rust during my 1st servicing.

ICE was HU Pioneer 3190- 5.5 K with b/w

             Rear - JBL GTO947 - 3 K with b/w

             Front- Pioneer ( don't recollect the model) but this was 180 W as compared to JBL's 160 W - 1.7 K With B/W

Sunflims- Llumar Diamond for front wind sheild - 2 K ( 70 VLT)

               Llumar Platinum for 4 sides and rear - 2 K  ( 50 VLT)

I plan to put cotton seat covers which the dealer has quoted for 1K. ( can anyone recommend anything else for Swift ?)

Thanks Vincent for all the info. That was quite helpful.

Hi Vincent,

Did you get the music system installed from the dealer or got it from outside. I have heard that most of the dealers charge extra amount on most of the accessories.

Also if we get the music system installing from outside vendor, we run a risk of voiding the warranty. is this true?

Hi Sandeep,

I got my music system installed from outside and there is no problem in that.

Its a lot cheaper and you get ample options.

There is no risk to warrenty, just ensure your guy installing the system uses connectors and doesnt tamper or cut any wires.

Is there any problem with warranty, if we got installed 'parking sensors' from outside?  Anyone have experience with outside instalation?  Binoy, i think you got installed the parking sensors from outside.  What is your opinion?  Dealers are quoting 2000+ than outside.
