I am planning to buy a Swift DZire in a couple of months. One of the dealer in chennai told me that Dzire is going to get its engine changed due to BS4 norms comin next year..

Could anyone let me know if this rumour is true? And by what time will this change happen.

And does Dzire gets same K Series Engine which powers Ritz? if not then what will be the new one which is goint to replace the current one?

All the cars which have BS-3 norms will be converted to BS-4. This could involve minor ECU tweaks or complete engine replacement. According to a scoop from an user on www.teambhp.com, the entire Maruthi line up will have a K-series engine eventually. The swift dzire which is expected to be relaunched in june-july might have a scaled down version of SX4 engine, if costs are not under control, the ritz engine will be used.

Life begins at 1900 rpm.
