@Suman - how old is the car? IMO, it is normal for old petrol engines to sound somewhat like diesels ("krr krr krr"). As long as the engine does not knock/ping, gives good mileage and does not consume oil/produce smoke, I guess it is fine.

Hello all,

I own indigo glx 2004make model. In recent times when i crank the engine i get some noise from bonnet and once it starts it will all be fine. Also this wont come every time. If we stop the car and start immediately it will be all fine and dont see any noise. It comes when we wont use start the car for 3-4 days.

Also one more problem being raditor fan now a days is making huge noise. Is it better to replace it or is there any way to check the fan and fix it.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Akash.

As Sunny suggests fans can be repaired but would advice you to take the car to a mechanic first(before the electrician) and diagnose and confirm the problem with the motor.

The noise can be due to any other component like belts, pulleys etc.

Hi bhanu

If the sound comes while cranking the engine (after it is absent) then may be its problem of retractor spring in the starter motor.. if it will not retract properly(on time) then there is a bit meshing of starter motor gear with fly wheel gear.. Just show it to a mechanic its a minor problem..
