Hi

Why dont u consider the Linea

Comparision

Tata Manza is a great VFM car but it is better to buy the car after 6 months as most the problems would have been fixed by then

For example take th Vista itself

Avoid Loga due to it Taxi and boxy image

go for fiesta.

it gives good mileage, looks good and refreshed, interiors (ebony and camel) combination is so nice.

regarding performance, ride and handling its awesome. you can go for it blindly.

I saw the Manza yesterday, when i was at the Fiat-Tata showroom, and trust me the car looks great. The car has a feature in the top model that i guess no D-segment car would have.

It has a keypad in the audio, that you can pair with the bluetooth with your phone. So not only only can you pick and disconnect calls from the keys provided, you can write msgs, store numbers and call any number. Isnt it great?

As for perfomance, i don't think we should be doubting on tata's diesel capablity. But i agree, it needs another 6-months time for the final verdict.

Add linea if you don't mind goin for fiat. I was a little paranoid too, but am buying one too.

Else, if not anything, go for verna. Its tried and tested.

Logan & Manza - both are VFM cars and from that aspect Manza scores better

Fiesta - fun to drive car and if you are looking for a car purely from a driver's pleasure Fiesta is good. But generally the Ford cars are expensive to maintain in the long run and Fiesta rear seat comfort is not good enough compared to any other sedan as it is crampled

Verna - good initial pickup but high speed dynamics are not good.  Ride and handling leaves a lot to be desired

Manza - good VFM car but worth waiting for 6 months to settle down. Uses the Fiat 1.3L MJD used in Linea, Swift, Dzire, Vista etc

Linea - When you are open to considering even Logan I would stronlgly suggest you to consider Linea as Bharadwaj said.

Linea comes with 1.3 MJD and has the best acceleration in the usable range - ie above 30 KPMPH. Has good enogh low end grunt for easy City driving and has breathtaking performance on highways.  Gives excellent mileage - at least 14+ in City and 18+ on highways with AC, however badly you drive. Ride and handling as well as roadgrip - best among the sedans.

Price - no other sedan gives so many features as Linea with a solid build quality

Features - no other sedan at that price point gives as many features like Linea - Blue & Me, My Car, Follow Me, Foldable Key, Rear sun curtain, Rear AC vents, boot lamp, Alloy wheels, Climate control, rear fog lamps etc etc

Support - FIAT has bad image due to experience of people during Uno, Palio and Siena days. But from Linea and Punto onwards they are very serious and the service hs improved considerably. Linea has the service freq of 15000 KMs - highest among sedans compared 5000 or 6000 of other sedans.  Also their spare parts are cheaper than Fiesta, Verna, City etc.

Resale value - This is something that needs to get established for Linea over a peiord of time and is expected to be good considering the interest sales, low maintenance etc

If your concerns are handling and GC, Fiesta would be best and its a driver's car.

Have a look at the comparison of top versions of the 4 cars shortlisted by you - go through the Specifications, Features & All Features.

Parameters you have asked for...

  • Price: Manza > Logan > Verna > Fiesta.
  • Features: Fiesta > Manza > Logan > Verna.
  • After Sales Support: Verna > Manza > Fiesta > Logan.
  • Resale Value: Verna > Fiesta > Logan (difficult to determine for Manza - new car - but it would in all probability be good).
  • Ground Clearance: Logan > Verna > Fiesta > Manza (negligible difference - 172 > 170> 168 > 165).

Other parameters...

  • Performance: Verna > Manza > Fiesta > Logan.
  • Handling/braking: Fiesta > Verna/Manza > Logan (Manza I'm not sure - but has to be good)
  • Space/comfort: Logan > Manza > Verna > Fiesta.

Test drive all the cars with family.

wow Prasad..

a very nice comment/reply. I liked it. Thanks a bunch!

@Sandeep:

if space one of the concerns, Do not go for Linea.

Logon though looks like a box from outside, inside you have ample space.

It is been said that ford ppl have higher error rate as compared to Tata.  I am not sure though. Gurus to comment on this.

Manza looks promising, but again as I mentioned above, ppl say jokingly that Tata releases the Beta version as the final version and then fixes all the issues and then comes up with an upgraded version.. what happened with Indica. Indica-v2 was upgraded version with all fixes of Indica.  I believe the same thing happened with Vista as well, as a post from somebody in this thread suggest.. So, if you are inclined towards manza for VFM... then wait and watch... for 6-8 months.

Not very sure but error rate but in this case Fiesta is a well established car while Manza is just introduced.  However, Manza/Fiat QJD engine, as we all know, is a proven one - performs excellently.  Besides, as I understand, lessons learnt from Vista & earlier models have been taken care of in Manza.  There should not be any issues, I suppose.
