HiEveryone,

I am buying a new Fiat Punto. Diesel Active. I expect delivery in next few days. However This model of the car does not come with a central locking system.

Can anyone please suggest a compatable Central Locking system for this model which I may install without voiding the warranty . I would really appriciate any suggestions/ feedbacks.

Thanks

Gaurav

Gaurav,

I would suggest you talk to the dealer about this. It should not be that you get this done and they void your warranty.

Cheers,
Naveen

Gaurav,

There is a Xenos Security system available on the market. I know few people fixed it @Chennai . It costs almost 4.7k i guess. You can find the exact model details on tem-bhp site .

Dealer's don't have anything yet as Fiat is yet to come with a approved cental locking /remote locking system .

Thanks Naveen:- I checked with My dealer A-One motors in Delhi . They will not install a third party security system nad have advised me to wait till Fiat comes out with one.  But that can be a long wait

Thanks Marar: I will check on Team BHP site. I hope to find a model which does not void my warranty since my dealer says as long as wires are not cut the Fiat warranty may remain intact.

So while Fiat has given me a free 5 extended warranty  but Car theft is not too uncommon in Delhi hence choosing between the Ext. Security system and warranty is a tough decision. I will reserarch further and see if I can have my cake and eat it too.

Thanks

Gaurav

Hi Naveen ,

I think this is the one FW 200-1A

I suggest you to contact the Xenos guys and get a dealer  there , who can fix it for you in your city .

Hi Gaurav,

I just bought Fiat Punto 1.3 Active. I also had similar doubt so asked dealer as well as Fiat service team based in Gurgaon. Acc to them Fiat will get approval for central locking in coming 1-2 months, so i am also waiting for that. I wont recommend it to be done from outside even if it is slightly cheaper there.

Please update me also on xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx when you get to know anything about this.

Regards,

Jas

While searching for a new Punto, i also faced the same problem. I inquire about Active, but dont have RCL and back powerwindow.  Dealer told that, third party RCL and PW will affect warranty and they will not install thirdparty accessories.  Then i told to install FIAT accessories only.  AT that time they told "NO approved RCL or PW available for FIAT" Yell.  THen i gave up the idea of PUNTO.

Fiat still doesn't have the RCL/PW accessories for the Active variant but they have launched new 1.2 variants at compelling price points. This has all features missing from previous editions. The early buyers are screwed. But new buyers can have their Punto and eat their cake too

Fiat has already launched new versions with so many features including PW and RCL. Also check http://www.fiat-india.com/fiat-accessories.aspx for more details.
