Thanks Pankaj, Omkar and Bhejdo

Bhejdo it is 96 NM / 3000. Sorry for typing error.

And today I went on highway again (Chennai To Pondicherry on ECR). The car behaves better now than the previous trip. Still waiting for 1st service. Its almost 1300 Kms done. I am going for 1st service tomorrow. The steering stiffness is bit reduced. But the body role is felt again as the ECR has lots curvs. The mileage is still 12.5. Let me update after my first service. The comfort level is really good. I closely watched the car on high speeds. The engine responds well now. Hope it will improve more after 1st service. I could not maintain the speed at 80 KMPH. The car tends to move towards 100kmph and even 120 kmph too. I did not try to press the pedal beyond that since the 1st service is pending.

949 kms and counting on my safire aura.the average is poor around 8.5.I drive it mostly in south mumbai and sometimes in the congested western suburb traffic on medium or low a/c.i am still confused though about calculating the exact quantity of petrol in my tank due to the analog meter.when the pointer is showing the red zone in safire aura what is the amount of petrol left??5 ltrs or 4?

i totally agree with OP over the comfort aspect but still the thing worries me most is the consumption.i hope the car gives better performance in terms of effeciency as i use it more.

i am totally satisfied with the pickup and will be packing my bags to goa in jan or feb 09,where i think the car would be put to real test.

i am still trying hard to figure out the real reason for such lower FE,i hope anyone here might helpo me with the reason as well as an accurate way to calculate the average.

Tank-full-to-tank-full method...

Refuel the tank full > set the trip meter to zero > drive the car for say 300 kms > refuel the tank full again (preferably at same pump), say it accommodates 27 liters > divide the run/kms by no. of liters (300/27) > the mileage derived is 11.12 kms per liter.

I just finished my first service after 1500 Kms. The car become very smooth now. The pickup also improved. The body roll also felt less now. The feel is really good now after first service.

And I went to show room again to fix the Aura emblom instead of Aqua and got fixed it. Nice followup and support by the sales executive in Concord.

And I happened to see the new Music system in Vista Safire Aura model now. Not the old Clarion Model. It is BlauPunkt I think which is being used in Manza. Really good one. The latest Safires are coming with it with out any information from Tata motors the sales executive said. But no USB input. But the sound quality is better that the Clarion one. But with same cost. Well done TATA.

Blaupunkt is a good system.  I think Tata have some tie-up arrangement for it - even otherwise it is available in their showrooms.

Thanks for updating.  The car will become even smoother after it does 5K & undergoes a couple of services.  Any update on mileage?

My Vista safire's mileage is improved now. On highway it gave 15 kms/lit. It was just 12.5 earlier. After 1st service and 2000 Kms run the mileage is considerbaly improved. My speed was between 80 to 100 kmph for maximum time period. I feel really good and hope it will still improve. In city its giving above 13 Kms/lit which was just 11 Kms earlier.

And the body roll also is very much reduced after first service. I feel very confident while cornering on highways. steering stiffness also bit redused now.

I would again say its really GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY CAR.
