Finally Kedar Smile, good to know that you will get the beauty sometime next week. This is all that is expected: be sincere with the hurdles they (FIAT) are facing and not just run away from the problem without responding to a genuine customer.

I hope this is the last time you face something like this.

Cheers,
Naveen

From what I have heard on other forums( t-bhp/PalioUsersIndia ), Mangesh is generally helpful in sorting out problems - esp issues with spare parts. The problems of spares with the older models ( old palio, uno, siena, petra, adventure ) probably will never go away.

Let's hope with Punto/Linea that they do get the volumes and the a.s.s. correct.

Well guys, I had given my Punto for repairs as I had damaged the left doors and quarter panel. I have been promised delivery tomorrow. I gave the car last Monday. So in total a period of 12-13 days for repair seems a bit too long.

I will update you guys afte I get my vehicle tomorrow.

Good to hear that the problem is sorted out finally.

Well in my view the dealers keep the running parts with them I mean the parts which are normally required for repair with them. As is keeping the parts requires much inventory stocking and may be it costs them money too so they donot invest in it. They order it then and when it is required.

My story ends today. I got my beauty back. They have done a good job, no obvious paint mismatch, or misalignments. I compared the finish with that of other Puntos kept there for delivery. Mr. Rajendra Desai met me in person. I told him my angst and why they should pull their socks up. I gave him the contact number of my friend who shyed away from buying this car after looking at what happened with me. He said that they are in the process of consolidating the warehousing for Fiat and were shifting from Ranjangaon to another place, hence the problem. He did promise that these things should not happen in the future and that they are taking Linea and Punto very seriously.

For those in Pune please send me an email at ************* so that they can be forewarned.

Post edited to remove contact details.

The matter may be discussed in the forums itself so that others too can participate & benefit therefrom.

Trust the Fiat guys. No company gives back the car once it goes to their workshop in a matter of days. It just took you a little more pain

Still, I guess it was worth the effort. The company is trying and well we can see dividends, Right?

I too got my car back last Saturday. That means, they took almost one week to order the bonnet, fix it and painit it. I guess they already had the grill and rear bumper. Work has been done neatly except for the case of the chrome bidding on the bumper. It has come with a gap. I have complained about the same. I have a few other chrome biddings on the door to be re-fixed for the similar gaps.
