@kedar-dont think 'media' would help, there is no need to be 'polite' to the 'unpolite' dealer!

Do note that most dealers will charge you a paring fee(for leaving the car at the service center) if the delay in the work(like processing of the insurance etc) is from your side.

@ Kedar , sorry to hear that but as mentioned by Binoy , no need to be polite here. You have to be aggressive with them. Also wonder how Fiat is trying to correct its tarnish image of past . They must have to address your concerns immdiately.

I think the best bet would be to contact the CEO, and contact the regional sales team that is at Mumbai. Also it would be good if you shoot a mail to Tata sales service.

Hope you get the car repaired soon.

Yes now I will have to be careful to not go for Valet parking!

First of all I would like to thank Mr. Shankar. I sent an email and cc to Mr. Mangesh and Mr. Rajiv Kapoor. Mr. Mangesh wrote back saying that action would be taken at the earliest. I had already called the Mumbai team, Mr. Ansari, gave a number of Mr. Desai who is assigned to my work. When I called Mr. Desai, he had been briefed by Mangesh already about my problem. Two days passed, I lost patience yesterday and shot off a letter to Mr. Mangesh to which no reply came. Here's what I wrote:

"I spoke with Mr. Desai yesterday morning, he told me that he would find out what's holding the work and tell me the date of completion of work by evening yesterday. Then in the evening he asked for 24 hours more, saying that he has sent the necessary emails and is awaiting the reply. So I called him today evening and still there is no progress in the work. I am gradually losing out on patience.
I actually got your email address because I posted about this problem on a website, if you have time then do go through it, http://www.carwale.com/Forums/ViewThread-10804.html
It is surprising that every person that I have spoken with:
Mr. Y.P. Shah - the so called engineer who is "handling" my case at BU Bhandari
Mr. Sadiq Ansari - whose phone number I recieved after calling the toll free number from the website.
Mr. Parag - an unknown character who recieved my call because Mr. Ansari was allegedly on leave.
and finally Mr. Desai - who also sends emails and waits!!!!
I am not rich enough, but had it not been for the loan I would have sold the car off for peanuts and bought another companies car.
 Dr. Kedar Kulkarni.
P. S. I need to let off steam and every person listed above has got it on phone."

Finally today evening I got a message saying that the spares have been procured. I hope it should be matter of another 5 days. When I finally drive out of the  workshop I will write again. The car seems to be idle from 2nd October - ironical  - no room for Gandhigiri, any suggestions what I should look for  in particular before collecting the car... battery status etc.

Dont feel sorry for anything,Be a proud owner, its not Punto's fault.

We come across such dealers sometime or the other, just do what feels right from your side and make your stand very clear

Since the parts are ready i dont think there should be any more worries,But do make sure you highlight this to the next level,or even if that means filing a case to consumer court.

That will guarantee your future perspective.

No ones born rich,Let people not play with your patience.

Take stern action in terms of a Consumer court case,5 days is a good time in your hand.

Make sure you have some legal documentation of the whole scene before you hit a case.

Wish you all the best.

Good to know of the progress made. Punto is indeed an excellent car ( I got mine delivered yesterday ), it's only the a.s.s and availability of spares/technicians that still haunts Fiat from the Palio era.

I do hope that they get it right this time with the Punto/Linea - otherwise the indian customer is unlikely to give them a third chance.

So let us know when you get the car delivered, and enjoy your beauty.

@Kedar, sorry to hear about your plight. Even my car is at the workshop for the last week after I managed to bang her just 24hrs after taking delivery.

My left front door, rear door and quarter panel is damged. I think I will get the car by the end of the month. Evertime I call up the service guy he tells that he will start the work in a day or two. I have been very patient till now. Be firm with the dealer/workshop. Just wish you get the car back in its old glory and that you dont have to visit the workshop in near future.

PS: I am a neuroradiologist. Good to know that doctors are thinking from their hearts and buying Punto. WIshing you many happy miles ahead.

As it turns out the availability of spares on Saturday was a hoax. They said that the spares were sent but not of Punto. Mr. Desai says that he is in constant followup and has asked for time till Tuesday afternoon. I checked a website run by an NGO for filing consumer redressal complaints. The consumer court is located in Mumbai and the time frames are even longer. It said that for the court hearing an average time of 2 years is to be expected. By then I might have prepaid the loan and bought a newer sedan!!!

The legal route is too lengthy. I am going to inspect the car physically tomorrow at Wakad. Any suggestions as to how to tighten the screws. Anybody knows journalists from Pune whom I can contact?

Gosh, what kind of maniacs we have in india?

Cant they reveal the clear picture to ease the anxiety from the customers side.

Kedar better check the vehicle, for they might have done more damages,do keep a voice recorder, camera handy for emergency purposes.

I think they are behaving in more odd manner than usual now.

Do  proper inspection of the vehicle.
