One reason why Manza will simply take away some customers from other competitions are because of its cabin space, engines (better than competition). And if Vista is built well, Manza will also be built well (remember, it is on a completely different from the old Indica/Indigo platforms).

While longer wheelbase translates to better ride, better ingress for rear, etc. it need not necessarily translate into better cabin space. Palio, Getz, Indica had been known for being spacious. Even if we consider the wheelbase of Vista, it is longer than most C segment cars (SX4, Verna, NHC, ANHC, etc.)

The price difference of 1.8L that I mentioned was a rough estimate of the top ends of Linea MJD and Manza MJD. But Linea topend has auto climate, expensive alloys and EBD. So, effectively, the difference could be about a little above 1L.

Ok. As Bala pointed out, some people will not go to Manza even if it looks more VFM than Linea. While that is true for a few people, most people will not think like that. I definitely will prefer the Linea, not because of brand/image or looks, but mainly because Linea's handling and stability cannot be matched by any car in that segment.

I will reserve my comments until I test drive the Manza (after Diwali).

but all said and done which ever of these two car sells, both the manufacturers are going to share the profits 50-50.it's a 50-50 joint venture and both the cars are manufactured at ranjangoan plant,so what's the meaning/purpoes of this discussion, let MANZA sell more,GOOD for FIAT,it will walk away with 50 percent profit(with additional profit for it's fiat engine!,so double profit for fiat for every car that tata sells in the form of MANZA)

@Bala: FIAT with not get even single paisa for sales of Manza, FIAPL is 50:50 between TATA and FIAT, its not that FIAT will have its share in any of the TATA Products. They share the same factory to cut the cost of development and ownership. The cost is divided based on resources used and not just 50:50. FIAT will earn only for the sales of engine to Tata's under the lincesense scheme.

Surely this will make it very hard for Linea to survive in this market. The perception gap beetween entry level sedan Indigo and Linea was big prior to Manza, now with Manza it has reduced. Fiat lovers or c+ segment sedan lovers will opt for Linea, while mass will go with Manza.

There is nothing very very special in Linea as compared to Manza which would attract customers. It wont be wront to say "Tata Manza Nailed the coffin for Linea". Lets see how it goes ahead.

no bike 2car,with regard other tata cars which are not manufactured in ranjangoan plant like NANA,SUMO,SAFARI,etc, what you have said is correct, but in case of manza/vista,since both are manufactured by a patnership plant, the profit is also shared

besides, manza will only compete with dezire, logan, ikon, accent and fiesta and not linea, linea competes with verna and ANHC

Features not mentioned in Manza, but present in Fiat Linea, are: Automatic climate control, rear ac vents, front and rear fog lamps, adjustable headlamps, 'Follow me home', EBD, boot lamp, desmodronic foldable key containing remote operations for key less entry, boot-opening, service interval of 15,000 km with service reminder, low fuel warning display, seat belt not worn buzzer warning/display and many more.  Also, the Blue&Me feature in Fiat Linea/Punto is co-branded with Microsoft.  But, Blue5 of Manza is not co-branded with Microsoft.  Already, various versions of Tata Indica/Indigo vehicles are sold in Tata Motors showrooms along with Fiat Punto/Linea.  I think, people who want to buy Tata vehicles will definitely go for it.  So is the case with Fiat products.

dear abhishek,

prices of manza starts at 4.80 lk & goes upto 6.75 lakh...i think manza will not be able to make much impact..since TATA cars have always faced "quality of fit & finish " issues.....if only it can manage half of what dezire`s sells today..it should find itself lucky....i have recently booked a dezire VXI..& will get the delivery in December..but am ready to wait...keep me updated if any1 take a TD of manza...

Manish.

as said earlier TATA has come longway & improoving a lot. Vista is a good example. TATA scores on price  hence considered VFM. India is a huge country & has buyers of all sorts. Liek you have chosen Dezire above all the options available & that is perfectly right on your part.

I just heard on ET now that the fit & finish of Manza are not bad at all . Infact he was praising it a lot.

I would say a person buying a new car should try all the cars availabel at that point of time in his budget & then make the decision. He should go for the car which he likes the most.
