Requirement: A Second Hand Premium Car for my relative.

Present scenario : He short listed a SKODA  either SUPERB/OCTAVIA/FABIA

Cons : After researching a lot online, i found that, there are so many issues with SKODA and its cars, some of them are horrifying.

Advise needed: Is it advisable to go for a SKODA that too second hand or I should suggest my relative to go for other premium brand.

which are the other premium brand which is trouble free, so i can suggest him. PLEASE ADVISE.

why, a honda or a toyota. If looking for diesel, look at the optra/sonata/elantra etc

The budget for the above would range from 15 lacs to 3-4 lacs. As Green has suggested invest in a reliable(long term) brand with less risk propositions-like Honda/Toyota.

My suggestion would be get a premium mid size car for new, if your relative has a budget to spend for a second hand superb.

My brother bought a used Octavia VRS a few years back and the car has been nothing but trouble. There were always niggling issues but off late the car has become extremely problematic. To be fair it has done over 80,000kms but then my Palio S10 was sold at 75,000kms by me with no problems at all. I would say stay away from Skoda's , even new ones until they sort out the reliablity issues.

Get a used Honda or Toyota for the time being.

There are far too many issues with service quality, attitude & ethics as well as the pricing of spares.

Buy any other brand for peace of mind.

Buy other brand rather than going in for SKODA that too second hand car.  In new cars they have issues and in second hand cars you will find more problems and it will be high on maintainance cost.

As most you suggested , now SKODA is out from his list

If he is now  confused with Toyota and Honda

which one will give  minimum trouble among these  two

range till CIVIC

Both the Civic and the Altis are compelling buys.

Get the best maintained car(considering the budget to be equal).

between the manufactuers, toyota is guarenteed to be trouble free.

about the cars themselves, you have to check their condition
