carwale brothers,
this is an email i sent to Hyndai regarding warranty issues when we install accesories from market
kindly comment on the issue after reading the email
dear sir,
As you are aware, car thefts are increasing day by day. Major manufactures are trying to take several steps to make  their vehicle theft proof. Infact Maruthi has come with immobiliser( iCATS) facility with their entire range of vehicles, which is a welcome move and peace of mind for customers.

Many other reputed and relaible  accesories companies like Xenos, Minda, and Autocop are also providing immobiliser ( eventhough not exaclty the chip based key technology provided by maruthi)  with their remote locking products that too with life time replacement warranty.

On the other hand Hyundai hasn't provided their customers, the near fail proof  immobiliser system on santro xing gls, which is most popular model in Hyundai stables.

The Hyndai Cop remote locking system your dealer suggested doesn't have immobiliser technology and it comes with only 3 year warranty for the product.

Either Hyundai should have provided factory fitted chip based  immobiliser  with the vehicle or  should have provided remote locking cum immobiliser with the dealer to install it on the vehicle with life time warranty.

Since Hyundai failed to provide these two options to the customers, the company should allow the customers to install the best available system in the market without invoking any car warranty threats.

If i have gone for the Wagon R vxi of Maruthi,  i would have had factory fitted keyless entry and theft alarm system and factory fitted iCATS immobiliser system.( which is fail proof atleast for the time being). And there was no need to email the company.

Now, having opted for Hyundai, i feel left in the lurch by the company on this issue.

Please advice your dealer, not to invoke any car  warranty issues and let the customer have his own choice or provide best in class devices with the dealer.

recently i read about some Hyundai Max remote locking. please tell me whether this device  have immobiliser, and cost of Hyundai max.

expecting a reasonable reply before i take delivery

thanking you

Abhilash-get the Hyundai max(4K) or get an after market unit with the immobilizer fitted on the car.

I heard there are keyless entry systems with an information screen on keyfob which displays important info. such as tyre pressure, fuel level , odo reading. This is useful as sitting inside home at a press of button info is on hand before venturing the next trip..any such product available in the market?

i was told by the hyundai guys that the latest i10 has the immobiliser feature and like if you lose the keys then, only hyundai team can create another one, ie no local key duplication can be done...
