Just a thought:

Can we look at doing a live webcast of the 2 day conference for our carwale friends who will be unable to travel for the National meet to Mumbai?

Sorry if I have gone overboard with the idea Smile.

Cheers,
Naveen

Guys,

An important update. I was there at the meet venue for last two days and I must say I loved it. The guy owning the bunglow has organized/helped adventures in several reality shows including MTV Roadies and Dadarigi (not sure on what channel). At the bunglow itself, there are mini-adventure stuff (rappeling, Burma bridge, Leap of faith etc) available. But considering the fact that we have limited time and a lot to discuss, I am opting for only one or two. The booking has been made for the decided date.

A small word of caution for our female members, the place (accommodation/food/activities) is not luxurious by any means and you have to get prepared for a few adjustments. It's clean, hygienic and spacious but it's designed for teams and not individuals hence privacy, comfort, luxury are forbidden keywords. But it's a fun place for sure.

@Naveen,

Great idea but an infeasible one. An hour's webcasting costs about 50,000 and since Alibaug is a remote place, the cost will go double! Two days' webcasting will make all of us bankrupt! Smile

@Krishna,

If you are asking whether I will be or I will be not attending the meet, I am surely surely going to be physically and mentally present for the meet. I just feel that lot of our friends will not be able to make it from South, North and East of India.

Thanks,
Naveen

@B,

I agree, that pricing is too steep. Lets get stuff video recorded and put it up on carwale later after the meet.

Naveen

Oopsie! I have to read more carefully before seconding....

All the while I submitted my previous post, I was thinking of LIVE BLOGGING - and not live webcasting... Live webcasting is for more colorful occasions, that are of a ceremonious nature - say the republic day parade or a GSLV launch or something that is visually very very appealing - to the extent that the enormous expenses on the webcasting are justified. Certainly this will not be the case for a bunch of loonies just sitting around and yapping a whole day or two...

There are some occasions and situations where a word picture is more appealing than the visual one a case in point was our Delhi meet - we left out the picturesque Kasbah restaurant (totally by being boneheaded, and forgetting to click a few snaps), but what we lost for visual appeal, was regained through a word picture of the stuff (not to mention the intrigue about the washroom Wink).

Live blogging does not take much - some nifty fingers, a laptop and a not-so-fast internet connection would do. I rest my case with this link to a live blog of a colorful debate between the VP nominees for the last US presidential election. Note here, that the live blog was IN ADDITION TO A LIVE BROADCAST, so it certainly has its place in the scheme of communication means.

Indeed,Banwari is the one having lot of pressure these days...

And why not,for he has to be preapred for the National Meet,First and the everlasting experience for us for sure...is what he might be concentrating on...

Good job Bans...

Hope we bring as many cars as possible,all the way from delhi and other places[Although Hijacking is not allowed]

That way it will be a real meet...Afterall its all about cars...!!!
