The mileage (fuel economy) declared by Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) for the BMW, Daimler-AG, Fiat India, Force Motors, Ford India, General Motors, Hindustan Motors, Honda Siel Cars, Hyundai, Mahindra & Mahindra, Mahindra Renault, Maruti Suzuki, Mercedes-Benz, SkodaAuto India, Tata Motors, Toyota Kirsloskar.

i think these mileage figures are for driving under ideal conditions....my i10 1.2 AT gives me 12.50 kmpl in city conditions and 15 kmpl on highways against 16.50 kmpl as has been claimed in the link...

These are the figures as declared by SIAM member companies, i.e. the automobile manufacturers themselves. So these can not be relied upon, even while comparing one against the other as they are not carried out by any third party or an independent agency for all makes.
