Hi

I bought the new City in Dec 08 and recently Honda has launched the "1.5 V" with a price differential of only 45k to the earlier 1.5 S model. I along with several other Honda City owners feel cheated and would like to bring this to the notice of Honda management...does anyone have their contact details? The Honda india site contains nothing!! No email IDs, just the factory address and phone number!!! Incidentally, the City sold outside India already had everything that is there on the 1.5V + side indicators on the mirrors as well!!!!

This has been an extremely disappointing experience with Honda...especially when i was trying to come to terms with the multiple design faults in the car( extremely low suspension, dicky not closing in one go, poor paint quality etc etc...). I wish i had purcased the Altis!!

Will really appreciate it if anyone can pass on contact details of Honda India Sr management !

I hope you test drove the car before you closed on this option to purchase City as you seem to have design problems with the car.

Thanks Vikas! I wanted specific email IDs...no one picks up the phone no mentioned on the site.

I did do a road test before buying .

Nevertheless check the following before you take delivery of your City...these are common complaints from around 15 of my friends/colleagues/City users:

1. The dickey has a closing problem...will not close in one go

2. Low suspension...the car lower body hits even the smallest of speedbreakers unless you are at 0-5 km/hr!!. Spk to the dealer, he should be able to raise the suspension a bit before you take it.

3. Brakes when hit hard create a shuddering noise...according to Honda dealers this is a problem with all Honda cars, so nothing much can be done. But it is indeed very surprising.

4. The horn when pressed for long( abt 5-8 secs)...goes in low tone..and then suddenly in high tone.

All the best with your new car!!!

Nitin

Hi Nitin,

May be this might be the problem of a certain batch of cars which might have faulty production. I had a test drive of my mama ji's 1.5 SMT and that went perfect. None of the problems you shared were faced. I test drove the car for 20 KMs and no problem. My father test drove the car but faced none of the above problems.

But thanks for the check list. i'll surely check these points before my car's delivery

Well i think this is not a common issue, Nitin.

But since you've got the numbers. Do keep us posted about what they say.

But about the V, one really can't do anything about it.

That way the Base model owners would be having the last laugh, since people now have to spend alot more actually purchase a "HONDA CITY". So i think we can't complain about these issues afterall.

Knowing Honda, we know its quite capable of launching a model with some new features, or some minor facelifts. That wuld leave the current owners feeling helpless. Customers become the target of "Change" as much as they benefit from it.

Cheers !

This might well be a dealer gimmick. Sorry to hear about the issues, seems to be one off.

Thanks for pointing it out Binoy.

I think i seemed to have missed this point. This low suspension point only doesn't seem very convincing. The ground clearance of the previous Honda City was also the same. Suspension can't get lower than the ground clearance. So Either it was bad timing, or a bad speed breaker. Otherwise, the ground clearance for this Honda City is pretty much alright, and does not need any Dealers intereference i am sure.

Hmmm just saw the thread...Nitin could you just go to another dealer and get the car checked once you actually complain to the the head office...?

I mean let us be sure first...

In most of the instances, keeping in mind the competition, every dealer has their own way of bringing out others faults in open....atleast the major ones...

Just visit a dealer and seek their help once you express your issues...

Hi

I had purchased a Honda City in 2005. right from day 1 I was gettinga noice at slow speeds and Honda was not able to rectfy it. Inspite of my numerous mails to their customer service they never responded. This noise persists even now

within 6 months the inner lining of the doors ( bottom edge ) started rusting . all the 4 doors had this. Inspite of having this rectified by them, it has occured 3 more times in the last 4 years. Honda does not listen to its customers.

I decided then whatever may be the merits of their car I will nto touch Honda if they are insensitive to their customer. AS for Honda city and civic they have Ground clearance problems and one has to watch out fo rspeed breakers or when you are driving fully loaded

Last week i bought a Altis and happy with its performance.

Cheers

Ramesh
