There is already some anti-rust treatment done by the mfr for new cars. That should be enough for the period in which it is in warranty. Then, after that period, where it would have developed cracks some places and / or would be chipped by flying debries, you can get it done once, to repair it for the possible entire life of your your car with you.
paying 8k on a new car for this stuff is entirely useless. You may as well give the money for free to the dealer!
The dealer will most probably explain, it is 3k only for the anti-rust, the other 5k is for teflon coating. That stuff is equally useless. My car is 6 years old, and it is NOW that the paint is seen thinning in some spots, after DAILY wet wipes by the cleaner boy (I am too lazy for the chore to do it myself!) So the coat by itself is plenty thick and strong. You don't need any other treatment for it today.
Maybe put that money in fix deposit, and you can get a car repainted in 15k Rs., after the paint looks dull in 6-7 years. Best VFM! (or enjoy the windfall FD returns after you have sold your car in 4 years from purchase! )
