Why to pay 5-6L for a good hactback when one can get a good Sedan for just 1L-2L more.

There was a tussle between i20, Linea, Honda City. Finally booked Linea, i hope it makes my dream come true and doesnt become a nightmare.

Bike2Car, you are one calculating dude! You have done your homework well. Enjoy the reward!

BTW, Black color in Linea is something that makes it look like a merc! I was filled with envy when I saw one rolling by...

It surely looks an international car with a segement above C, and since most of the public is still unaware about FIAT products, I think I will have premium cashed on looks too I am sure my neighbous and many known ones will even belive If i say, I have imported this one :p

Moving to Sedan of such a length was a hard call for me too, as even I and my well wishers feel that it would be hard to drive, maintian and manage.

But as my movements are generally on wide roads, medium traffic, very rare bumper to bumper traffic, I think it should not pose much of issue.

@bala: You can really make anyone fly in high sky Great selection of words for sweet praise. Really made me feel like king of the earth

Finally car has arrived at dealers place. VIN says JPZ thats sep,09 and MACRO C.A.V says 12/9/09 10:05

I also saw a medium grey linea, which was an export model for South Africa,  I didnt knew Fiat was exporting Linea to SA too. Probably there was high demand for Medium Grey, thats why export model was pushed into local market or its vice versa. The car had special marking saying "Export for South Africa" and had some other detials in regard to VINS and part numbers. Unlike my car which had Macro C.A.V details the export model had all those VIN details. Could see any visible difference from top dont think there would be much difference otherwise.

Experinced the cheap fitting of plastics, under the steering where the black dash connects with beige dash had huge pannel gaps and if you apply sight pressure on lower beige panel, it opens up wider to show inner space. I tried on 3 cars that just landed and all of them had same issue. Seat lever was smaller and more firm. I am yet to do PDI. Will provide more inputs later.

congrats bike2car(btw dont you have a nice name?!),congrats on your aquiring a beauty,no,it was not just praise,it's real appreciation for some one who's upgrading from a bike to a big sedan, why shouldnt you feel like a king, you should, after all you have made it by yourself, yes, the plastic quality is pathetic,i always stay from touching anything inside the car!!!,i have planned to cover all those cheap plastics on doortrims and behind the back seat with some good quality velvet or art leather, yeah,i knew about the exports, already palio was being exported to southafrica, dont get too confused about the vin number,do a thorough  PDI(I never did one though),have a great ride both in car and in life

I am planning to get a new wooden dashboard for Linea. Watch out for this space in future.
