As already mentioned, the deisel engies these days are quite refined and do not need much maintainence initially. But ofcourse with time they would require, depending upon the usage. As per what you have mentioned your usage, you should not have maintainence problems till 4-5 years, unless used the car extensively, say 5-8K KM per month or more.

In my opinion, in present scenario there is not much difference betweek a petrol and diesel cars these days wrt maintainence.

What is approximate milage of RITZ(Diesel), Swift(Diesel) and Tata indica vista(diesel).

How about going for a CNG/LPG fitted car as it will come cheap as well as low operating cost.

CNG/LPG will come cheap but will ruin the engine life.

Go for Tata Indica

Hi Rohit,

You are asking all the question one needs to know before deciding on a car. Regardign LPG/CNG: yes, the do impact the life of the engine and would cause more spending on maintainance. pease remeber every engine is desigend spcifically for a particular kind of fuel. alternative fuels may be used but the performance and engie life are compromised. Moreover, if you enjoy speed and want power, then these are seriously compromised when using LPG or CNG. another major disadvantage will be that you will not have any boot space left, which will be used a lot on long drives. So not at all advisable.

i10 is not the car for your usage. any petrol car is also out of the equation, so you are left with swift/ritz deisel, Vista and Punto. Though I own a maruti, but my brother has an Indica (Xeta). No issues whatsoever with Tata (and therfoere Fiat) service. Vista has a different look from the "Taxi" indica.

Moreover these two cars are more spacious than Swift/Ritz and therefore would be more comfortable on long drives, especially if you plan to go out with 5 people on board. My advice woudl be to consider these practical features over and above the perceptions.

Hi,

I got the Test drive of Ritz Diesel with my mom and dad on back seat. A have got a few concerns

1) Power steering becomes very heavy on sharp turns where a rotation of >90 degree is required. I was told that on high speeds this is the case with all power steerings, Not sure how true is this.

2) My mom being short in height faced problem in touching car floor. As per her, she didnt found shockers very effective as she can feel the thud. Where as per my dad it was ok. Not sure whats the case.

Thanks

I am sure you will love the ride & sheer size  of Vista & You will certainly appriciate Handling & looks of Punto

This will help you to decide the best car suitable to you.

Hi Rohit

As u want a car with good ride and handling with a duesel engine i suggest u go for the diesel  Punto.(a class of it own)

http://ndtvauto.carwale.com/research/comparecars/compareFeatures.aspx?car1=1567&car2=1533&car3=1112&car4=1566

Punto diesel is a vfm car.

The Fiat Award winning Multijet Engine is used in indian cars like Linea,Punto,Vista,Swift,Ritz,Dzire and many more.

So i would suggest u go for diesel punto

Take a test drive with ur family.

Swift has a waiting period of 3 to 4 months.

In Gurgoan ABS motors is a reliable TATA/FIAT dealer.

Go for Ritz / Swift diesel or the Indica Vista Quadraget.

Swift is handsome , Ritz is tall boy car & Indica is sturdy ... all have pros (I am not critics) ... Take a TD.

As per your budget, Ritz & Indica suits you. But before taking any car, decide three times if you really can't or don't want to streach your budget. Its a one time investment - atleast for 5-6 years.
