Spark:

  • For: performance,small dimensions
  • Against: facelift soon

New Estilo

  • For:New Kb series engine
  • Against:Very bad gearbox,Not a sucessful product

I10

  • For:Looks,practcality,engine,fuel economy
  • Against:build quality

I suggest you go for the i10 if you need the car very soon,If you can wait then you can try out the new spark

Best option is i10 1.2 Kappa then comes Spark. No personal experience of Estilo but new engine is good that is for sure. If you ask VFM? Spark is at no. 1 Spot features @ Price.

I am second to Rajiv

It takes less time to do things right than to explain why you did it wrong.

GM India is lauching a 800 Cc mini car this year. Presently GM india is selling Spark in good no.'s and Production V/s Sales is good.

In 2010-11 GM india will launch a new car on Beat concept. Check this link for more info about 2010 Spark. But current Spark will continue and dont expect 2010-11 Spark @3.10 lacs on-road for PS modelLaughing.

Estilo is the best option for you. It has good road visibilty. Spark also is good. Dont go for i10 Era. I dont agree with MBA that Estilo has "Very bad gearbox,Not a sucessful product". I have been driving it for the past 10 days. Gear shift is smooth and it is still too early to comment on its success.

Spark is the best option for you,

great pick up and fuel economy, with superb price tag.

if you can wait for two months, than you will have Spark 800 cc option (CNG/LPG option too), while today only 1000 cc is available.

cheverolet Baet will take time to launch. it will come at the end quarter  of 2010

Beat will have 1.2 ltr petrol and diesel engine with digital cluster meter.

GM offers a 3 year warranty on spark which is the best for any small car. Check with any spark owners in your area if they are happy with the GM service. If Service backup is good, Spark will be a good choice.

The estilo also offers you  a great visibility and the new engine is more refined and fuel efficient. Maruti's Legendary service adds to it. This should be your second choice.

The i10, it is a little expensive for your budget. I suggest you not to buy the Era as the re-sale value will be poor. The 1.2s will have better re-sale value. You can try for the "i10 Magna 1.2". Try bargaining for discounts that would fit your budget.

In my opinion, its always better to buy a highe version of a smaller car compared to lower version of a bigger car when we're under a strict budget.

Good luck Smile

Paramesh,

I am planning to buy my first car. I am also confused between Spark LS & i10 Era. My concerns are for good fuel mileage, low maintanance cost and good resale value. I think i10 Era will have more resale value than Spark. I would like to have your views why you believe that its resale value will be poor.

Please also guide me about mileage of these 2 cars.
