Well said. In terms of value proposition, SX4, Fiesta and Linea are on the top. Honda City is good, but at that price? 2.5L above the other cars. At that price difference, we shouldn't even been comparing the cars. But then, it is Honda. They are selling almost he sum of the numbers of SX4, Fiesta and Linea put together.

Linea 1.6 or 1.9 is not going to help the sales as everyone claims. And Linea 85bhp diesel isn't as underpowered as others perceive, not at least on Indian roads. I say this specially from my experience on highway overtaking of various other agressive drivers of different cars. So, I would call it adequate. And once I fit the RaceDynamics or PSI tuning boxes, it should be more than adequate. 1.6 MJD or 1.4 T-jet would obviously leave everyone behind because of the massive torque/rpm graph area.

Not sure why SX4 cannot be launched with the 1.3L MJD in VGT form? That would have given more numbers than honda city.

If we see at a pricewise segment, all Honda cars are beaten by other competitions, except for the City. How long Honda can get away with their city, yet to see! But in my book, I have already started the countdown. It will soon be beaten unless Honda tops up with more/better specs at the same price.

Honda City sells more than normal purely because of hype around "HONDA QUALITY, "HONDA ENGINE" etc.

Honda engine seem to deliver better power and efficiency not because of engine supriority but because they build tinny cars with less weight compared to european cars.

Honda engine is hyped to be super smooth but I have not come across petrol engines which make noise - even in Swift, Santro. SO this also hype.

Also there is amyth that is created as if only Honda engines are reliable. There are many engines of Hyundai, Toyota, Fiat and several other brands - which engine gives reliability problem? None. So this is also hype.

Honda cars are never of solid build quality even at Civic range compared to European cars and it is safer to drive any europena car than Honda

Even in terms of car crash test results Skoda or Fiat score far better than City.

But City will sell because when anyone asks their freind, chacha, uncle, neighbor everyone says buy a Honda City. They do not give their advice based on data but on feel or percpetion
