None of my close family members have own a car. So there was actually no 'bad background'. My friends did suggested me other options like Marutis and Hyundais, but I was closely following this forum since last 6 months or so. Intitially I zeroed on Wagon-R because of my height (6.3 Ft!) but rejected soon as the look was too boxy. My next option was Indica Vista. This car has almost everything I wanted in a car, but somehow I was not sure about Tata Cars. So waited for few months. And when Grande Punto launched, I went to check it in the showroom with my friend. Actually he drove the car. The experience was awsome and I decided, this is the car I would like to own. You can say it was a dream for me. Again it took me couple of months to book my first car. Ratan Tata said on the launch of Nano - Because Promise is a Promise.  On similar lines, I said to myself Because Dream is a Dream and you've to fulfill it.Smile

Although it was the Test Drive which decided to go For Fiat Punto, the background was created by you all people on this forum, who helped me to decide. Thanks everyone.

I'm still waiting for my Electric Blue Punto, may be by week end I will have it.

Cheers

Good Murali. That is  the spirit of BOLD NEW DRIVE.

Most of the people give higher weightage for factors

1)  which are not going to give them any extra benefits

- wide service network

- market leader

- not too many cars on the road

2) factors which are due to perceptions or imaginary

- poor resale value (as this is something which will be decided by the market in due course for Linea and Punto) and may not be bad

- higher spare parts cost (imaginary due to past experience but Linea and Punto have the chapest spare parts cost in the market)

- poor service (again imaginary due tp past of Fiat)

Give more whightage for factors which are directly tangible and enjoyed by you everyday in the car

- solid build quality

- excellent ride and handling with roadgrip

- good FE combined with performance on road (not on paper)

Enjoy

I'm waiting for the Powerful Linea Diesel Launch, time being enjoying every ride with my Palio. When i booked my Palio i just went for the looks. Did not take test ride or nothing. If you go by head no one will book Fiat! ASS is always a issue, Once i had a breakdown and i still recall the episode. Going by heart anyone will book Fiat.
