I have 3M, they are better than some of the films I see on other cars but I'm quite sure better films can be made A bad film will spoil the curves of your car, but then on regular cars (<15 L), what's the point in spending a fortune on the film - it'll never add to your resale anyway. Garware costs less because it's made here and they don't have loyalty and import expenses that other brands do. Don't write them off - if they don't work, you know who to sue, and Garware knows that you know, so they do a decent job at making the films. If Garware films are good for buildings that stand in the sun for decades, they are good for your car too - they didn't build such market share on low quality.
Make sure you go for high visibility, it's vital for safety on Indian roads.
