I did a TD of the i20 1.2 L petrol at Jaya Bharat Hyundai, Mumbai.. the car was kinda slow on the 3rd gear but fine overall. But i am really worried abt the braking.. i am currently driving a M800 and perhaps "don't know to brake properly" but i was just about fine on the Fiat Punto 1.4 L Emotion Pack. My friend who's driven more cars than me fared better but he too experienced at least a couple of jerky halts. I really don't wanna end up with motion sickness when i go to work.

It has disc brakes on the front & drum brakes at the rear, is that good or bad ?

Or was the car given to me faulty ? and the i20's braking is actually good enough.

Thank you for the help once again.

Well, I would say the brakes are tuned to be sharp. It is ofcourse very sharp on new vehciles. It is a matter of getting used to is.

While driving my old Santro LE i have to PRESS to apply the breaks. I would need to search for my foot after applying the breaks on the Santro, but while driving my i10, i would just need to feel the brakes for the vehicle to stop.

You can tune your brakes to suite your requirement.

i20's braking is good enough.. the jerk you felty was probably new experience of driving an ABS equipped car. When i bought my Swift Zxi, i too felt that it was jerky. But slowly I got used to it and learnt to apply the brakes without any jerk.
