Is the parachute material safe as an exterior cover for a new Ritz?

I've got a new exterior cover for Ritz which the dealer said is of parachute material.

I've heard when it rains OR when the sun is shining bright, these covers leave a mark on the car. Is this true?

Please reply ASAP as my car is still covered
