Fiat Palio NV [2005-2007]

I am real fan of fiat palio,This is a good word of Comfort -Safety -Friendly. Since 2012 i am driving my palio, this is one of the important part of our life. but the negative side i feel the worst after Service and High cost Spare parts market. Fiat india should be take a survey about her market for better future.

Exterior Still look fresher than any other car by any angle you see it. Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Feature rich car of its own time tachometer, power windows, lock for rear windows. Exellent space can fit three full grown adults in rear. Can any road in India, I have riven it on the worst roads. most comfortable car. Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox 1.2l engine is responsive (only third gear is slightly long), can go beyond 100km on highway car without any jerk and you won't feel it. Fuel economy in city is 11 km/l on highway easily can give 16 or may be beyond (I always check it on highways) can go more than 60 km on tankful 40L (excluding 7L of reserve). Gear box is very good (sometime notchy), best part is reverse lock. Ride Quality & Handling No question best car in ride and handling. Final Words I'm a proud owner of Fiat Palio 1.2 ELX for last ten years and it has done 78622 km til now. Areas of improvement Sales and service should be quick like other car companies.Excellent built, ride and handling, highway manner, built like wall and to the lastJust nothing (not every mechanic can under stand it), lack of spare parts, service station

Got a 2002 model in 2008, when it had done about 40,000 kms. Overall very happy and in love with the car. Had difficulty with the TATA Motors service centres, they were not really interested in servicing a FIAT despite the sharing arrangement TATA motors had with Fiat. The local mechanics had some trouble figuring out the problems with this car. All the problems I faced with this car over the 5 years I had it were majorly electrical, mainly because I couldnt find a mechanic to service them properly. Mechanically it was a very solid car. Exterior Had a orange one, would turn a few heads. Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Superb space and height. Very comfortable suspension and ride, would absorb the road disturbances well. Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Slightly underpowered on the highway, beyond the speed of 80kmph, slick and smooth gearbox with a nice heavy clutch, gave me 8-9 kmpl in the city and 12-14 kmpl on the highway. Ride Quality & Handling Excellent, as expected from an Italian car. Final Words No regrets.   I purchased an old Fiat Palio Elx 1.2 model in Nov 2008, Originally model is of Nov 2002.The advantage I got was that It has LPG kit already installed before buying by me. As the mileage of fiat palio is 7/8 per liter, so it is affordable to use LPG fuel instead of petrol.I got the LPG kit serviced by a good mechanic, so I am getting power more than petrol when AC is off. In case of AC on, power got by LPG is less than petrol. So palio will run on LPG comfortably if Kit is installed or serviced properly by good mechanic.After driving fiat palio, I came to know the difference between the normal build car like Wegon-R, Santro, I-10 etc and Rock Solid Fiat Palio. When you sit inside, you feel you are driving a big and solid sedan, all together different from Wegon-R, Santro, I-10 etc. Fiat Palio is Rock solid, Spacious and Powerful. So if you want to purchase an old solid car, then go for it. But do not purchase car older than 6-7 years. As palio is solid car, so there will be no problem related to engine and other mechanical parts but other parts like power window, silencer, head lights may need to change and these are costly parts. Please do good bargain as palio has very low resale value and use the saved bargained money for making the car like new. Try to purchase palio from branded old car company like "Mahindra First Choice" etc. You will get peace of mind.Service of this car may be issue but there are two big service centers for fiat palio (1) Tata service center (2) Bosch service center. Bosch is a good international service center, you can get good service and part change. Tata service is well known :(. They try to avoid part change because of hard availability, but if you go to tata service center, insist for required part change along with normal service. Without fight no one will hear you in tata service center. Just provide advance money for any new part, they have to arrange original fiat part in one or two weeks. Final Words My next car will be new and will be as solid and specious as Fiat Palio is. I wish this car (Palio) may last very long. This car is not for them who get easily frustated. As its spares  are not easily avialable and most of mechenics refuse to repair it  as due to its sturdy design it require more effort than a maruti.
