Toyota Fortuner to be launched in India

The Land Cruiser is celebrated for being one of the very established genuine off-road vehicles the world has ever seen. And it still is. But this mean, mad machine will be yours only if you have pockets deep enough to shell out over 40 lakh of green paper, and that makes it out of reach of many. Oh, lest I forget, then there is the fuel efficiency, which at 6kmpl does not read very encouraging, does it? So what’s there that
Looks form an important part of something as big as a SUV and this Japanese does not disappoint. The front looks butch (very uncharacteristic of Japanese) with that strong bonnet line and large head lamps taking the pride place next to the grille. The bonnet scoop looks menacing. The front appears dynamic yet simple. There is certain purpose of the roof rails and those massive wheel arches when you talk about the design aspect. The same purposeful look is retained at the rear with the large tail lamps adding a bit of liveliness.
The creature comforts will be bang on and the interior will be pleasing. Very Land Cruiser-ish, the interior will add a smile on your face every time you place yourself on those comfy seats. All the tech abbreviations like ABS, ESP etc will find their way into this 15 lakh plus SUV.

GUYS THIS IS THE ONE.INCLUDING ME MANY PEOPLE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR TOYOTA FORTUNER LAUNCH SINCE 2005.LET THE RUMORS OF THE CAR GETTING LAUNCHED IN 2008 SHOULD BE TRUE.

Its been a long time coming. But the thing to remember is that will it be able to compete with the likes of the CR-V as the fortuner is a generation older. I had been waiting for this car for a really long time. everybody kept saying its going to be launched soon. Some magazines even did test drives abroad, but till date there are no signs. There is no confirmation from Toyota. And frankly i was disappointed when Toyota did not participate in the Auto Expo. Seems Toyota has put its India plans on the back burner. Rumors r just rumors at the end of the day. I would say go for the CR-v instead (new 2.0 ltr launched at 2 lakhs less ) of the fortuner even if it had been launched.

I TOOK A TEST RIDE ON sumo grande, i am disappointed, it will take tata 50 years to make a toyota qualis equalent, but by that time toyota would be sending cars to the moon, cheap front interiors, poor location of gear knob, noisy car, almlost like a diesel auto, but the exterior is excellent, i fell for the exterior, but inside the same old cheap stuffs of tata, poor plastic components not matching perfectly the bottle holders ar cheap, even a small time toy maker will make a better plastic component, untrained sales boys, no knowledge & informations about the new grande. looks like laughing stock inf ront of costumers, is Ratan Tata listening.
