Ford India plans for a new small car

Ford India will roll out a new small car in 2010. Ford will not change its plan of investing in the Indian market and will increase the localisation of parts to be competitive with other players.

The small car will be engineered for Indian roads and will be available in petrol and diesel variants and will shorter than 4 metres in length. The petrol engine will displace upto 1200cc and the diesel upto 1500cc fulfilling all the norms of a small car defined by the Indian government getting a cut in excise.
