Maruti Suzuki Alto/Wagon-R Replacement - Cervo
July 16, 2007 – 8:13 pm by Ashish Jha
Maruti Udyog has been trying hard to present itself as a maker of modern and appealing cars. Live examples being the runaway success, Swift and the car that is setting the same pace that the Maruti Swift did sometime back, the SX4.
Citing this, the company may bring in the Cervo. You might have read about the news of a small car in the B-segment (again?!!) from Suzuki that might be launched in India and will be based on the Splash. To us, the Cervo is one car that is more captivating than the Splash since it is already rolling off the production lines in Japan.
So, what exactly is the Cervo huh? Well, a compact car, not much bigger than the Alto that is currently powered by a 660cc petrol engine but to compete against the likes of the Santro, Spark and its sibling Zen Estilo, the Maruti Suzuki Cervo will come equipped with an engine capacity of a litre. Considering the trend flowing in the Indian market, 60-65 bhp is a realistic estimate of the power that will be sent to the front wheels. Arching roofline aids the wedgy stance while the high and squat hood compliments the large, slanted headlights. The rear is equally attractive as the front end of the Cervo is. The large lamps add appeal and character to the rear of this Suzuki.
The Cervo sold in Japan derives power from a 660cc engine that develops a healthy 55bhp. It is speculated that Maruti may join hands with Nissan on this project to develop the car for them with a 660cc heart. The Splash on the otherhand will be a replacement for the Wagon-R and will make use of a 1.2L petrol engine, moving on from the current crowd of litre engines currently found under the hood of small cars.

Hi,
Good move by Suzuki, but I heared that Suzuki is planning to replace the long lasting master kid “Maruti 800″ with the Japanese Suzuki Cervo which is the latest small car, recently launched in Japan, the Cervo.
The name Cervo has been a history for jap Suzuki cars mainly used in the Japanese version of alto.
EXTERIORS
The lines and cuts of the car are neat and classy. The headlights seem too aggressive.
INTERIORS
The interiors is almost looks like that of the much popular Swift. The boot is very small, but OK for daily shopping and office stuffs.
Small car, so can adjuste only two at back and the third one can cramp up the place. A lot of storage areas are available to keep stuff in the front and find little at the back.
If priced well with high profile then this car will be a success in India , the sporty and agressive exteriors and the classy and swift-like interiors(which makes it look like a mini-Swift)and 660CC engine Fuel wise economic are bound to make the young gens and the ladies to force their cash out.

Riqwan,
Just one request in there. If you are referring to a particular user/person or a comment made by them in response to the blog post, please do mention that your reply is aimed towards his/her comment. This will certainly not be as misleading as it appears right now wherein it seems that you are responding to the report generated by CarWale. Hope you understand.
@ Sanjeev,
Please do try and NOT ‘copy and paste’ the words of other content sources on our portal.
Cheers!
By Ashish on Jul 26, 2007
Sorry,
I will do it next time. Thanks for the advice
By Riqwan on Jul 26, 2007
Yes thats true that those are not my review. I never claimed that. If you both go the first line then you will know.
I wrote all this things that people should aware of this things, Which is not provided by you.
Mr Riqwan this shows that you are very nice guy. Thanks
Because some people don’t know anything and don’t want others to know. YOU FALL IN THAT CATEGORY.SICK. THIS IS NOT YOUR FAULT………….
Mr Ashish is this mentioned anywhere in your website that no body should ‘copy and paste’ the words of other content sources on your portal.
Mr RIQWAN SEEMS TO IMMMATURE AND YOU TOO Mr Ashish. You have my email ID, you could have conveyed this message on my email ID instead of highlighting here. TRY TO IMPROVE YOUR PERSONALITY as you are sitting on responsible seat.(If I am not wrong)
By sanjeev sharma on Jul 27, 2007
Sanjeev
First things first. Reading the first line, you mention that you “heard” about such news. So it could’ve followed with your own views and comments instead of pasting words of other information sources. It is ethically incorrect.
Secondly, all the relevant information has been provided by our write-up, though not in the same words. Read carefully and you shall know.
Thirdly, it is not Riqwan’s fault, and before commenting on anyone’s personality, one should peep inside one’s own. We do have your e-mail id, but I would like to make a point here. I do occupy a responsible position, hence it was my duty to make this public to ensure such imprudent acts do not occur in future.
Now, considering your reply to our posts here, I would like to say that it is you who appears to be a little too immature and MUST improve upon your persona. It is a conscious effort for me NOT to sound livid in my words, hence I would politely request you to refrain from such antics in future.
By Ashish on Jul 27, 2007
Ashish
You responded very fast. GOOD. It hurts you thats why you respond. Same way everybody has heart and it pinches when somebody like Mr RIQWAN comments and people like you supports them. This is not the way you should handle these types of situations.
Now the question of immaturity May be I am immature bcoz I am just 23 YEARS but what about you? This things happened only you started giving reviews. Banwari and Anurag sir never commented like you. You gave air to Mr. Riqwan comment. NOW TELL ME WHO IS IMMATURE?
Anyway be happy and try to solve the problems smoothly and calmly NOT GIVING AIR TO OTHER COMMENTS. Hope you will understand others feelings also.
By sanjeev sharma on Jul 27, 2007
Banwari is still here and such things never happened with him because things of such magnitude never occurred till now. Validate this if you have to. As far as supporting views is concerned, we are not a biased/partial portal and will support whatever is right.
I too am just 24 and have reasons to believe that even at 23 you can have a level head.
Where-ever it stands as of now, I would like it to come to an end since my objective is not to start a war of words in here. I know I am correct at my stand. If you think you are correct in your doings, go ahead. But please, it is an earnest request - make sure it does not happen in future.
By Ashish on Jul 27, 2007
Mr ASHISH
Everybody is right and correct at their own stands. Nobody accepts thier mistakes and faults.
Yes I am right and correct at my stand.
I was not astonished with Mr Riqwan comments BUT WHEN YOU COMMENT THIS……….
“”Just one request in there. If you are referring to a particular user/person or a comment made by them in response to the blog post, please do mention that your reply is aimed towards his/her comment”"
What is this? Provoking Comments.
Your comments made me write all this things. Mr Banwari is too cool and one incident occurred in his time what he didn’t comment. JUST READ LOGAN AND GETZ COMBINED REVIEW.(Rohit wrote something and aksh commented and Rohit outbursted and he gave reply to aksh but nobody from carwale gave comment and they never claimed that no body should ‘copy and paste’ the words of other content sources on your portal.(As you claimed)
Even your request is just like warning. You provked me to write all these things.
By sanjeev sharma on Jul 27, 2007
Sanjeev
I am not against you in anyway what-so-ever. Think what you may, but my objective was just to convey the message loud and clear to everyone. I did not mean to provoke you at all and neither were my words aimed at sounding like a warning. I have been as forthcoming as I possibly could be. Hope you keep participating. I shall give a rest to my tongue (fingers in this case) now.
By Ashish on Jul 27, 2007
Ashish,
You should not be and that will be better for you. Now I don’t have the faith people like you.
Now the question of participating, that depends upon me and moreover it will be better for you to give rest to your tongue or fingers.
See Mr ashish people don’t know who is sanjeev sharma and same will find lot of sanjeev sharma BUT CARWALE IS ONLY ONE and today you ……. the image of carwale.
I was not the only one who wrote reviews/comments here. If people like you started making comments on we people then who is going to write and read the reviews here.
Whatever happened this could not had happened if you simply had emailed your message on my email.
Anyway best wishes to you.

By PREETAM on Jul 28, 2007
NICE CAR. I THINK IT WILL TAKE ANOTHER 2-3 YEARS TO LAUNCH.
IT WILL BE BETTER THAT SOMEBODY SHOULD GIVE INFORMATION ABOUT THOSE CAR WHICH IS GOING TO LAUNCH THIS YEAR OR FIRST HALF OF NEXT YEAR.
AND what was that between sanjeev and ashish.
Usually I check all the reviews and I found that Mr. Sanjeev Sharma use to give informative and good information sometime that is not provided by others and more over many people like me are not aware of different sites on automobiles if he did this I don’t think that one should make this type of issue. Especially at least not from carwale
I like his suggestions regarding FORD FUSION and I think he has some knowledge and I appreciate this thing and sometime many people asks question that is not answered by carwale and others but he tries to help it out and those are helpful also.
I appreciate that he try to provide maximum information regarding automobiles.
I will request Mr. Sanjeev Sharma that PLEASE keep on writing.
By ashu on Jul 30, 2007

I am sorry Mr. Sanjeev Sharma. i really am. i didnt know that it would become such a big issue. and the blog is not mine, i dont claim any rights, but you have done good by conveying the message, but while you post this message without a source, it might hurt the original writer. This has happened to me before and i truly am sorry. Please continue giving good reviews and opinions.

Hello Ashish/Riqwan/Sanjeev,
Iam a long time reader of Carwale website, and a die hard fan of Mr.Banwari and now Ashish. I went through the whole conversation and I would like to advice everyone, please (I repeat) please be very cautious and polite when you type down words, because there is no tone or accent when you read typed words and that may sound completely different for the person on the other side.
This is a public portal and these kind of recurring conversations should be avoided, also if such conversations occur, please edit and remove them, cause there might be people who want to get information at the earliest, by just browsing through wesites, they might not have time as I had and they may just jump & go to another link. So, whoever and whatsoever mistake anyone does, advice them in the most polite way and change the topic.
Even, I dont want any one to reply to my comment, and I request you to remove all these unwanted information after 3 days of posting.
Banwari lal ji, please read this!!!
Cheers

All reviews in websites are bogous. Don’t go by these. If you want to buy a car first plan how much down payment and EMI you can afford. Then go to any dealer of any brand and drive away with your dream car. All the big companies are not grown overnite. Every car is good. It’s all about your budget only.
