Renault revamps Logan lineup

Mahindra Renault Pvt. Ltd. has launched the ‘New Collection Logan’ which is available for Rs 5.02 lakhs (ex-showroom Mumbai) and replaces the existing Logan range. The New Collection Logan is available in two new colours – Rocky Beige and Java Brown.
The top-end GLSx and DLSx variants incorporate ABS with EBD. The interiors have been changed as well : a wooden centre console and end rack, velvet seat covers and side door trims and a beige dashboard make an appearance. The mid-level GLX and DLX variants’ interiors feature a silver centre console and air vents and a beige and black dashboard. New seat covers and a new carpet round out the refurbishments.
The mid-level variants also incorporate a Driver Information System earlier available only in the top-end versions of the Logan. The system provides the driver with information like average speed, mileage, fuel consumption and distance-to-empty figures. A special ‘tripmeter’ also gives the driver an idea of the distance he has travelled since the car’s last refueling stop.
To coincide with the launch of the ‘New Collection Logan’, Mahindra Renault also announced ’Chaabi mein Gaadi’, a contest which gives prospective customers the opportunity to win a Logan. Select people will receive a car key with an invitation to visit a Logan showroom and try their luck. If the key belongs to any of the New Collection cars on display, the lucky contestant gets to drive away with the car. The contest will be on from October 1 to October 31st at all Logan dealerships with a total of eight cars up for grabs.

After using this car for 10+ months and driving about 8000km here is my take on the Logan .I purchased my Logan DLE diesel model from a dealer in pune (BORA AUTO, Pune-Mumbai road). Pre-purchase service is excellent, but previously they didn’t have service station in PCMC area, I had to go to Pune to get service also service is not so good. Usually didn’t do what I asked them to do in service.
Extremely Spacious! 5 adults can sit comfortably. (3 backseat, 1+1 front), Fuel Consumption is also excellent! I am getting average of 14-16 km without A/C most of the time on city roads (1-2 km less if A/C is on). In Pune driving cars on roads is pathetic, one needs to change gears frequently. Because of this, you can not drive on top gear(s) more than 2km. 20-21 km without A/C on highways (1-2 km less if A/C is on) Leg Space is good for a tall driver. Ground clearance is good. Boot space is beyond imagination compare to other cars in its class. Good for tall people since the clearance is more than adequate for the size of the car.
Pros: Excellent in mileage, Spacious, Smooth gears, Good grip on roads
Cons: Wipers are not good, Hazard light button is not good, after purchasing car within
couple of weeks it stopped working. I changed the fuse twice, but I finally got it fixed. I don’t know if that’s in all cars or just mine, but it did annoy me until I rectified it. Also, at times it seems on 2nd gear it doesn’t have good pickup. I have to switch it back to 1st, then when I get close to red-lining it, then I hit 2nd where the pickup kicks in. It’s not all the time, just sometimes (mostly when it’s not warmed up adequately).
Overall, it’s a really good value for the price I purchased it for and I would highly recommend it.
