GM India creates new marketing entity

General Motors India has announced the creation of its sales and distribution company called ‘General Motors (India) Marketing Private Limited.’  As a part of the restructuring and realignment of its corporate structure, GM India is transferring its sales, marketing and distribution activities to the new entity, while all manufacturing activities will remain with General Motors (India) Private Limited.

Speaking about this realignment, Mr. P. Balendran, Vice President, GM India  said, “This move will help us improve planning, inventory management, transport management, timely delivery and thus, maximize cost synergies.” The restructuring exercise, which is expected to result in significant cost efficiencies, will also involve the transfer of some employees who are currently engaged in sales, marketing and distribution activities to the new company.

GM India’s network expansion is in full swing with 122 sales points and 129 service outlets already operational across the country. With a view to further widen the customer reach, the company intends to put in place at least 145 sales points and 160 service outlets by this year end.

    If GM Company really wants real market of small car in India then they have to focus on followings:-
    1. More Publicity.
    2. have to open more showrooms and service centers.
    3. Most of the peoples in metro cities think that owners may not get good after sales services from Company. Since, only limited Service Station/Centre exists. in India.
    4. Cost of spare parts should be cheaper like Maruti & Hyundai and should be avialable at everywhere.
    5. It is very difficult to handle Gear and Indicator with left hand.
    6. Dealers should be more friendly. What Company and Dealers are offering should be transperent (in written).
    7. Once, Dealer quoted the price (Proforma Invoice) must have some validity date. He/She should not enhance the price of car. Thanks,

  3. Mentioned points of GM Company are good. If GM follows this points. i hope it will be become very famous.
