Ford announces Fiesta price cut

December 4, 2008 – 11:38 am by Charles Pennefather

Ford has announced that its popular Fiesta model will be sold at a special discounted price for ten days.

The discount ranges from Rs 20,000 to Rs 90,000 - specifically, up to Rs 91,000 on the EXI petrol model and about Rs 51,000 for the diesel. The price cut brings down the Fiesta’s ex-showroom price from Rs 6.2 lakh to Rs 5.29 lakh, (ex-showroom Mumbai) for the petrol variant, and Rs 6.59 lakh from Rs 7.10 lakh for the diesel. This offer will be valid from the 3rd to the 12th of December, and at select dealerships.

  2. Its simple…ford has 6 months to survive the economical crisis…if no financial bail out package is resolved it will declare bankruptcy.

What then? who is going to supply spares and evolve R&D…

Just imagine spending nearly 6 Lakh rupees and then getting second hand value for under 1.5 lakhs…think Open and Peugeot….

If ford can survive 6-8 months i would suggest to go for a safer deal then compared to now.

  4. Well this concern on ford’s future is valid but I think these companies will survive. The reason for price discounts is piled up inventory at dealers. I am going for a fiesta and I think any bargain hunter should take advantage now.

  5. It’s not ford alone whose facing the economic crisis, rather most of the American motor companies are under threat coz of global meltdown, but by saying so, it doesn’t mean that this is the end to the auto industry. The US govt. has already aproved some subsidy (for a period of 6-8 months) to benefit these companies. But even if these companies failed to make a mark within a span of 6-7 months, then possible some of them will go ahead to merge themselves inorder to allieviate the economic burden.

now coming to the fiesta deal, 91000-/ price slash and that too on one of the best cars on Indian roads is something awesome and to miss it for any reason wud be losing a good opportunity. The fact regarding getting parts is completely out of question as there wud be many manufactures who will be manufacturing as well as supplying these parts.
