Skoda Fabia being produced in Chakan

Skoda Fabia’s production at the Volkswagen plant in Chakan near Pune commenced from this Independence Day. The Volkswagen plant was inaugurated earlier this year on the 31st of March.

On this Independence Day, Joerg Muller, President and Managing Director, Volkswagen India planted a sapling at the plant and dampened it with recycled water from the production facility. A price slash could be expected in Fabia, as more parts could be now localized at the Chakan plant. The plant which will build the VW Polo which hits the Indian roads in 2010.
