Much Awaited Hyundai Santro Xing CNG Launched
July 5, 2007 – 11:09 am by Banwari Lal SharmaMany were waiting for CNG Santro to be launched. Many bought something else in frustration of waiting. There were debates whether Hyundai will make it or not. No one was sure, not even Hyundai India chief Mr. H.S. Lheem! Launch date of the car was first predicted as late 2006. No more predictions, it’s launched yesterday, finally.
As of now this good news is for Delhi people only. All Hyundai dealers in Delhi will sell the Santro CNG. Their service-centers are well capable of servicing as well.
Minda Auto Gas Ltd will supply kits. Retrofitting would be done by Korean fitment specialist NGVI. As per Hyundai, the advanced kit is not only safe but with an advanced Lambda control system ensures that it meets the Euro III emission norms.
The CNG Santro will have 2 year, unlimited mileage warranty (just like non-CNG Santro) and there is an additional 2 years warranty on the CNG kit and fitment as well.
The CNG Santro would have a manual selector switch, which would enable the driver to easily switch from Petrol to CNG and vice versa. The on-board CNG cylinder has a capacity of approximately 12 kg and the running cost on CNG for the Santro is estimated to be in the region of Rs 1/km or even less depending on the driving cycle. The cost of the CNG Santro (XK, non-AC) is Rs 325,361 (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
A bit late but great move by Hyundai India. Now, let’s see when they bring Santro CNG to Mumbai and other major Indian cities.

yes this is posible francis, any authorised dealer can convert your car on cng with government approved kit francis.
there is no modification made to structure of the vehicle, cng cylinder is kept in your boot space n only your bootspace occupies n eat up complete space but you save on gasoline around 65% angad ji.
performance can be upgraded by installing lambda control system, timing advancers and emulatore, so dat u never feel your car to b under powered ravi ji.
maruti hooked to lpg wagonr becoz maruti consider bulk production and sales are targeted for entire country.more over runnig your car on lpg gives you savings of 35% over petrol manish ji.
well one thing everbody should remember here is you are running your car for 1 rupee a kilometer and dat is wat we r talking here

There is no AC version of Santro available in the market at all(with CNG). and a car without AC in Delhi’s HOT burning summers, can be killing.

Hi, I have Santro Xing XL model, had purchased in 2007 Aug with company fitted CNG. My car performance with CNG AC is not good. My question is should I go for Lanbda in my car or it has already fitted at the time of purchase. Thnx.
