Skoda launches Superb Diesel and V6

Skoda India has launched the Skoda Superb 2.0TDI PD and 3.6V6 FSI 4×4 today at Taj West End, Bangalore. The 2.0TDi PD (Diesel) & 3.6V6 4×4 (Petrol) comes after the launch of the all new Skoda Superb 1.8 TSI (Petrol) version in March, 09.

The Skoda Superb Diesel 2.0TDI PD is geared with an automatic 6-speed, DSG, with manual Tiptronic gear changing. The 2.0 litre engine equipped with the Pumpe Düse (PD) technology has an inbuilt turbocharger with a high pressure direct injection system. The success of this engine can be attributed to the fact that it posses a lethal combination of power and fuel efficiency perfectly suited for Indian terrain. 

The 3.6 litre engine produces 260bhp and 350Nm of torque between 2500-5000 rpm, and a top speed of 250km/h this range-topping engine accelerates the car from 0 to 100km/h in 6.6 seconds. It is equipped with a DSG gearbox as a standard and delivers power to the road via a fourth-generation Haldex clutch variable four-wheel drive system. 

The car is available in – Black Magic, Rosso Brunello, Cappuccino Beige, Diamond Silver & Candy White, Platinum Grey (Exclusive for the V6). The price range of the cars would be:

  3. The new Skoda Superb really looks superb! The car looks well proportioned and gives a feeling of owning a big car. The interiors are also quite good. Definitely a great deal of value packed in at Rs 22 Lacs. For people who want good value and are not very conscious of the first class markee, Skoda brand is a better deal than Volkswagen (although they come from the same stable).
