Now Volvo Enters India with S80 and XC90

Volvo XC90Yesterday came Germany’s Volkswagen and today Sweden’s Volvo! Volvo, yet another major world auto player has entered India today with its very luxurious S80and XC90. Both the cars will be sold as CBUs (Completely Built Unit) imported directly from Sweden. S80 is available for sale in Rs.38-44 lakh and XC90 at Rs.45-52 lakh range (ex-showroom, New Delhi).

S80 is a luxurious sedan and competes with BMW 5-Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class. XC90 is a luxurious SUV and competes with Merc’s M class and BMW’s X5 SUVs. For both the cars three engines are available to choose from. D5 (2400cc, 5-cylinder, 185bhp) is the smallest and the only diesel engine available while 3.2 (3192cc, 6-cylinder, 238bhp) and V8 (4414cc, 8-cylinder, 315bhp) are two petrol engines. Only automatic transmission system is provided in both the cars. Both S80 and XC90 are very well loaded with all type of luxurious and safety features.

Volvo India will sell these cars from its Chandigarh, New Delhi and Mumbai dealerships as of now, however, they have plans to add 7-9 more dealerships in network till next year end.
