Hyundai i20 launched

Hyundai Motor India has launched its i20 today at a price of Rs 4.80 – 5.82 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
Commenting on the launch, HMIL Managing Director, H S Lheem said, “The Hyundai i20 that we launch today was first unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in October this year.” The Hyundai i20 possesses a 1.2 litre, Kappa, DOHC petrol engine with a max power of 80bhp@5200rpm and a peak torque of 11.4kgm@4000rpm. The i20 is meant to compete with the 1.3l Swift Petrol.
The i20 has active and passive safety equipment like anti-lock brakes (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and comes fitted with six airbags. The i20’s engine is similar to that of i10’s 1.2l engine.

It is a great news; though it would be much greater if the engine is the same one used in european market. Wonder how much would be the increase in cost if the european engine is used instead of the KAPPA ENGINE meant for i10.

A good vehicle with lots of features but underpowered with same 1.2 lt KAPPA engine, very less power to weight ratio and highly priced.
Swift will keep ruling this segment.
