Maruti Suzuki might shrink production

Maruti Suzuki might consider cutting down its production if sales do not improve by the end of this financial year. Last year, Maruti had a market share of around 54 percent.
Maruti had already reduced its production in the month of November by around 6%. The sales figure for the month of November wasn’t impressive as it was almost 24% less than that for November’07.
There has been a steep decline in the sales of Maruti 800, Omni and the Versa models. These are the models which will probably have the maximum cut in production. The company is going to produce Nissan’s Pixo based on its A-Star, and this should boost the company’s exports in the initial months of the upcoming year.
