Fiat India Private Limited (FIAL) is conducting a multijet drive across India, covering more than 10,000km. All four Fiat cars sold in India (the Palio, Linea, Grande Punto and the 500) are a part of this drive with an additional Grande Punto as a support car. Honda Siel Cars India Ltd (HSCI) launched a new version of the CR-V. The new CR-V comes with a new two-step front grille, a re-sculpted hood & front bumper design and oval shape fog lamps. The new rear bumper further accentuates the stability of the car. The new CR-V is 45 mm longer than its predecessor and measures 4575 mm in length while maintaining the same width, height, ground clearance and head clearance. A new 10-spoke alloy wheel design replaces the previous 7-spoke alloy wheel design. The new wheel design gives the car a more aggressive stance and enhances its sporty looks. Premier has launched a compact SUV named ‘Rio’, with a price range of Rs 5.25-6 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune). The Rio is powered by a 1489cc turbodiesel engine developed with Puegeot’s TUD5 technology producing a maximum power of 64bhp@4000rpm and 152Nm@2250-3000rpm. Fiat India flagged off a drive called ‘Fiat Diesel Drives India’ today. ‘Fiat Diesel Drives India’ will be taking Fiat’s 4 multijet diesel offerings- the Linea, Grande Punto, Palio and Fiat 500 through testing Indian terrain over a period of a month and a half. This one-of-a-kind journey will traverse through diverse terrains within 16 states in India, clocking over 10,000 kilometers. The hatchback will be based on the global compact car platform (V platform) and the car will be manufactured in five countries which include Thailand, India and China. Tata Motors has had a 21% stake in Hispano Carrocera S. A., a Spanish bus and coach cabin manufacturer that is one of the largest in Europe, since 2005. It has now acquired the remaining 79% shares in Hispano by way of exercising the existing call option, through mutual agreement with the other shareholder, Investalia S. A, Spain. With the start of the Diwali festivities, Chevrolet has decided to slash the prices of the Captiva by a sizeable chunk. The automatic variant of the Captiva gets a price reduction of Rs 2.32lakh and the manual transmission variant is down by Rs 2.16lakh.
