Indian Car Sales June 2009

Maruti Suzuki’s sales grew by 22.63 per cent in its June sales as the company sold 75,109 units. Hyundai Motor India (HMIL) sold 47,267 units resulting in a growth of 17.63 per cent during June. Exports of the company grew by 32.5 per cent to 24,251 units as against 18,301 units during the two comparable months.
Mahindra and Mahindra’s (M&M ) regional sales jumped 24% to 22,526 units in June. Honda Siel Cars sales grew by 6.5 to 5,039 units with the sale of 2,032 units of its recently launched Jazz.
Tata Motors reports sales of 17,039 cars in the month compared with 17,017 units sold in June last year. The Indica throttled the sales figures, which saw 19% higher sales at 10,210 units. The unit sales of the Indigo sedan declined 26% to 3,522 and sales of the SUVs like the Sumo and the Safari declined 11% to 3,307 units last month.
