Ford to hike Ikon’s price

March 26, 2009 – 10:20 am by CarWale Team

Ford has announced the increment in the price of its Ikon variant. With the fluctuating rupee, the import bills for the Ford have gone up. The prices of only the Ikon have been increased.

Ford India Executive Director (Marketing, Sales and Service) Nigel Wark said, “There will be an increase in the prices of Ikon by up to 1.5 per cent from the price we announced last November while launching a new version of the car. Due to this exchange rate fluctuation our import bills for components have increased and hence we thought it was a logical step to tinker the price upwards a bit to offset the impact.” The Ford Ikon with its petrol heart is available for almost Rs 4.6 lakh and for the diesel it costs around rs 5.19 lakh.

  3. The ford has really offered a very good package in its icon diesel variant but still it is not a success when compared with marurti dzire which has a waiting period of 3 months aAt this juncture it shall not be wise to increase the prices which may ultimately kill the icon variants

  4. I dont think that Ford has annouced to hike the price of Ikon because recently they lauched a car and in a very short time they increase the price…. feel really bad….
Now i was planning to buy a Ikon, but now i heard that they hike d price abt eight thousand. Ikon has a sexy look and very compact car. Please rethink your decision about hike the price.
