Fiat Linea sales cross the 10,000-mark
October 6, 2009 – 12:08 pm by CarWale Team
The year 2009 has been a revival of sorts for one of the country’s most long-standing car brands. Fiat has been preparing for this new phase in the Indian market for a few years and the efforts have met with good response. The beginning of the year saw the launch of its sedan, Linea which is at the core of Fiat India’s revival.
The Linea has clocked more than 10,000 units within nine months of its launch - Fiat sold a total of 3550 cars in the corresponding period last year. The Grande Punto has sold more than 5000 units within three months of its introduction.
Speaking about this milestone, Mr. Rajeev Kapoor, CEO, Fiat India Automobiles Ltd said, “Fiat is a brand which has been deeply rooted in the Indian psyche for many decades now. Our dream is to see many Fiat vehicles plying on Indian roads. The milestone achieved by the Linea is a testimony that we are inching closer towards this goal. Now, we are confident that the Grande Punto will emulate if not exceed this success.”

i have punto mjd its an amazing car. only the after sale service attitude need to improve a lot and some fine tunein of their car quality is needed.
also they need to have accessories for punto. till now there is ZERO accessories for fiat. even a mud flap, car cover is not avalaible.
its a car that u will feel and enjoy driving..

I am an owner of a Fiat Palio S10. The car is great but service is pathetic to say the least, even after the Tata alliance. Dealers work on zero inventory policies and even the basic spares like fuses and relays require days to come by. Though impressed by the Punto & the Linea, I still am in a dilemma to venture into a Fiat dealership.

I own a Palio GTX. The FIAT after-sales is.. well, there is no after sales support… you are on ur own. So dont make any mistakes… Car is great! but that solves only 20% of the problem. The rest is service. You will never be able to sleep well if u buy one.

Guys, the Fiat service is good now. I own a Fiat Linea Emotion Pack 1.4 and I am absolutely delighted with the car. A few days back, a cyclist rammed into my car and the rear-view mirror was broken. I am posted in a remote Punjab town. One call to the Tata-Fiat dealership and I got the mirror the very next day. Done 4000 km already, the car does 140 kmph effortlessly (haven’t tried going faster yet).

I own a Linea 1.3MJD emotion pack and have clocked around 5000Kms. The after sales response has been really good specially after the getting the first service done. The car is really good in all aspects and if you are really intending to own this beauty, you dont have to think twice…

I hv asked Fiate people for test drive, they are just fixing dates only, never turned up. They hv done 2 times. If this is the value of commitment before selling then God knows what will happen after sale. Any of you hv faces similar thing?

HI I own a Fiat Linea MJD 1.3.
Regarding Servicing it has been a propaganda made by some of car brands that their servicing is good and some people fell for that. Any good quality product doesn’t needs any kind of servicing. First service at 3000 KM shows that the Fiat confidence in their product. This is not a joke? So i urge you not to fell for good service or chamcha giri of sales executive of some brands. Buy a quality car from fiat and forget about servicing you wont need it.
