According to figures released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers, domestic passenger car sales rose by 6.1%, registering a total of 99,738 units, as opposed to 94,002 units that were clocked in June 2007. This is despite the increase in fuel prices, the car's prices themselves, and finance rates.
