VW’s Passat has been on sale in India since November, but VW aims to become the Indian people’s car maker as well, with plans to produce the Up! by 2010-11 with a sticker price of Rs 3 lakh.

VW introduced the Indians with its luxury offering, Passat, a few months back and it’s heartening to know that this premium package has been well received here. The Passat fundamentally competes against the likes of Nissan Teana, Skoda Superb and Toyota Camry to a certain extent.

European auto-giant Volkswagen has launched Passat today in India. The car full of luxurious features is available in two versions, Highline DSG and Highline DSG S. Highline DSG is priced at 22.35 lakh and Highline DSG S at 24.35 lakh rupees (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
