Maruti Suzuki won’t phase out the M800 and Omni models. Initially, the company had planned to phase out the two models in 2010 as Bharat Stage IV norms are to be implemented. Maruti is working on the powerplant of its two very old models.

Maruti Suzuki’s sales grew up by 24% in February 2009 as compared to the February 2008. The company sold 79,190 units (including exports) compared to 63,822 units sold last February.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited’s sales figures grew in January 2009 by 5.6% in the domestic market. The company sold 67,005 units, the domestic market, up 5.6% over corresponding month last fiscal.

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd has hiked the prices of all its models except the Vitara, to counter rising input costs. This price hike came into effect on May 17, and will range from Rs 1000 - 18000, depending on the model and variant.

Yesterday's budget impact has been quite pleasant for small-car buyers. Almost all small-car manufacturers have reduced their small car prices from 5,000 to 20,000 rupees. Hyundai, Maruti and GM had taken the new prices in effect immediately.
