Ford India has registered a 50% growth in sales in September 2009 as compared to the corresponding period last year. It sold 3,405 units in September 2009 as against 2,273 units during September 2008.

Ford India has signed a contract with the Directorate General of Supplies & Disposals [DGS&D], the central purchase and quality assurance organisation of the Union Government, who has approved the use of the Ford Fiesta by all government departments across the country with immediate effect.

Ford India is preparing to set off on an epic 20,000km drive across the country. The 'Ikon Cross Country Drive' will pass through 26 state capitals and three union territories of India and will take a total of 46 days to cover the entire distance.

Ford has announced the increment in the price of its Ikon variant. With the fluctuating rupee, the import bills for the Ford have gone up. The prices of only the Ikon have been increased.

Not too long back were there cars like the previous generation Accords and Camrys that were making merry in the D-segment. So Ford thought why to let only the Japs cash in on the party, and they launched a car too. A brilliant one at that - Mondeo.

Ford - world's third largest automaker - has not really seen a steady journey in India thus far. Started with the Escort it did and went on to offer some "josh" in its lineup with the introduction of Ikon.
