Hyundai Getz Prime 1.1 For?
Comfortable?
The subject here asks whether the Getz is comfortable enough or not. The answer will be loud yes, with a capital, not just Y, but E and S too! For a car that still falls under the broadened small-car category, she is damn good! With loads of space, it comes across as a very accommodating partner!
We test the cars quite unlike the others. We make sure that
we load the car well upto the limit that it will be used for, in normal circumstances.
That means about three to four persons inside, and sometimes some luggage thrown
in as well. So here I had Rajeev - a tall, lean, strange-faced and equally strange-brained
guy who plays around with computers and programs and, so it is said, is one of the
main guys behind our portal, who looks like a character out of a comic book - for the
uninformed (I hope he does not read this), as the guy sitting behind an equally tall
and pretty attractive looking guy - myself! And no, there were no ill words exchanged
between us since, even with the seats reclined and pushed back to contain me, he was
pretty satisfied with the space that was available to him. Ban - the wise guy - too
was basking in the glory of sitting up-front and reveling in the beauty our country
offers aplenty!
The buttocks seem to like the seats which are firm yet comfortable. Infact, the firmness is just apt and you will appreciate the same while on long drives. All we wished for is a little more under-thigh support, the lack of which becomes even more evident while you are sitting at the rear since you cannot move the seat back to strech your legs. This said, there is not much you can point a finger at to ridicule. Good space management, split-folding seats, sufficient loading bay. It ticks all the right points.
It does not matter whether the space is in abundance or the seats are good if you
bounce or slide from one side of the car to the other, does it? A good,
plaint ride quality is essential to make the experience positive.
And the Getz Prime delivers well on that. Tech words like independent
MacPhersons and torsion bars fill up the 'Suspension' space in the spec sheet.
And what does this mean in English? It means that the Getz Prime rides well.
Very well for a hatch indeed. We threw it around on bad roads and all it did
was - said 'thank you'! Her bump-absorbing capabilities were appreciated by everyone.
Even on the worst of roads, you just sense the suspension working its gut out to make you feel easy inside the cabin.
And at the end of it all you say - you did well, my little partner.
Drinks well?
The Getz Prime is a typical 'occasional drinker' which is proven by some numbers. The numbers being 14 kilometers before that 1.1L heart requires another sip, while going about sedately. We pushed the car hard and saw its thirst increasing. The Getz quenched it with litre of fuel for every 10 kays she ran. While maintaining a constant speed on open stretches we got 19kmpl. So the tag of an occasional drinker fits this car well.
