the engine is so bad. dont take maruti swift vdi.in it no sapce no comfort noise always cominy from the body in the new car also.


if you buy this car u think that u have lost your money. if u compare swift vdi with a auto u know who will bw the winner (auto) because of not so much noise like maruti swift vdi

    If the space is less then don't take it but don't ask others not to take it...
    Comparing Swift with auto..this guy has gone mad...
    I test drove it and it rockz!!!! Amazing engine and stability.. Don't feel the speed even at 120s

    U think the space is less in swift - have ever sat in any small car or even mid segment cars atleast a single time. By the way how much space do u need.....
    Have u aceelerated the swift - vdi, even then i agree litle noise from the engine, but comparing to an roaring auto - U r really sycho man....
    Dont drive with the pre - meditated mind...
    and just dont listenb to others who envy swift....

    I Have owned the Swift Ldi for the last 6 months and have clocked about 15,000 kms. All i can say is ,its impeccable!!!its value for money. I am really surprised with the comment above,its ridiculous,All I see a big necessity for an ABS,,, thats all.

    Yes, when i test drive the car a noise from engine . when you ride on highway on 120 km speed ,that noise is so much.

    Go for it. I just picked up my VDI last week. I must say this is the best I have driven in diesel. I had owned a Zen petrol earlier for over 12 years. I always thought after driving a Accent CRDi that it was the best car. Now I revise my opinion. VDI rocks literally. The best money can buy.

    Its a great car. The engine is very good and makes very less noice when compaired to other diesel cars.
    Good fuel economy, getting 15 to 16 in city and highway 17 to 18 100% AC.
    Fun to drive and very easy to overtake on highways.
    No doubt; You will be satisfied with the car. compleated 12000 KMS and i did not find any problem

    Prob: Rattling noices are noticed in rear seat, Windows when open half way etc.Air filter has to be cleaned every 5000 kms for better fuel efficiency and pickup

    I took test drive of swift VDI, this car is absolutely refined on performance and looks, but the interiors are simple and elegant,may be the pastics used inside are of not that quality, but still i liked it and booked it on last week of june 2008, the dealer promised a waiting period of 5 months on papers but he says he can get the delivery within 3 to 4 months, It is almost 40 days since booking i am waiting for the call from dealer.

    Hi all, Currently i am using OPEL CORSA 1.6 GLS Petrol driven nice car to drive on highways aswell in cities.As i mentioned earlier i have booked a VDI in Bangalore and waiting for the call from dealer. I would like to know the maintenance part of experineced VDI owners and other CRDI car's owners from this forum. Also abnout the extra fittings necessary like audio systems, key less entry and other essentials to fit into VDI. Suggest me.

    the car really really rocks its been 2 yrs since the launch of swift vdi and is still in waiting do you think people are mad to book the vdi if it had so many problems. i would say its a real value for money car the only drawback are the blindspots the car has

    he is definetly crazy......Swift has a fiat engine and saying it is bad is like saying lamborghini Gallardo is the slowest car in its segment . Fiat make the best diesel engines and think where a 1.3 ltr engine makes 75bhp while a 1.4 skoda diesel makes only 68ps.

    Check out the new,INDICA VISTA its an amazing car.Big space,features which cannot be compared with any small car.
    Swift was my choice till sep 2008,After taking a test drive of vista and lokking at features,comapring the price i booked n got the delivery of the new feature packed machine.
    I made this decision only because it had the Fiat engine which is so successfull in swift........
    For space,better features,lesser price than its competitor,Gofor the vista,its amazing,
    Looks go for Swift.

    Yup! Vista is far better than Swift. Lots of features and performance and lesser price. MUL is just cashing the brand value and people are crazy about that FROG car. MUL or TATA ka koi kamal nahin hai. Thanks to Fiat for manufacturing SDE engine. Vista is better than Swift in terms of legroom and seating comfort but engine is same. MUL is now manufacturing the engine whereas TAT is importing from FIAT.

    Nitin,4lacs u won't get SwiftDiesel,either inc ur budget or buy indica.I'd suggest VDi,coz I hv LDi & i regret.:( U wont get pwr wndws/ctrl lock/rear headrest/fog lamps/rear wiper/cig lgtr & many features in LDi.If u get these done outside u'll spend more than wht u r saving.I strongly recommed u & anyone who is buying Swift Diesel to opt for VDi rather than LDi.In fact I plan 2 sell LDi & buy DzireVDi coz I get all the features that I want & also the trunk.hope this helps evry1.Happy Buying.:)

    hi i am using LDi from last 10 months there is not a single problem , Its a great car. The engine is very good and makes very less noice. pick up is good, Good fuel economy, getting 15 to 16 in city daily my running is 40km . and highway minimum17 to 18 with ac ON.
    You will be satisfied with the car. compleated 14000 KMS , its value for money.
    above commnets are nonsense and they r given by lay man, he don't know about the car, he is mad and writing rubbish things.

    I have been driving a swift VDI for last one year & I can say very confidently, its the best one in that segement. Mileage is excellent , sometimes I get 18 +. Comfort & stability is superb. I keep going everyweekend to hilly & forest area & drive therein is fantastic. Only problem I faced is little ground clearance, may be as earlier I was driving wagon R.

    Driven Swift&Vista.
    Swift is more refined with better quality interiors as compared 2 Vista.Noice level of engine is a bit more in Vista as compared to a Swift VDi.Of course cost difference is about 50000. Other features are more or less same.
    Looks R subjective.I found Vista a replica of Indica with better features and interiors. Difficult to distinguish Vista from a normal Indica by looking.Cow horn type tail light panel looks bad.I don't know when Tata's will change it.Siz is comparable

    Go for Aveo U-VA, it's the best in this segment. Engine is fully noseless. U will not feel that u r in a running car.

    people told me that if u wanna drive just in city and less on highways then its not worth buying
    is it so?
    i will b driving 1500 in a month and sm times on highway also.

    its a nice car, I almost done 10000 km, Mostly on highway. gives me 19km/l with 100% AC On. Driving comfort is good on Highway. I almost drive 430 km in day.( feels little bit of tiredness)

    People say 1 month to 6 months is it true? 1 month is bearable. But 3 to 6 months are unbearable.

    I bought my swift vdi somewhere in MAY 2008 and trust me I enjoy driving this machine... its amazing on fuel economy and power and space.... I think you are talking about a toy car right....

    itz really stupid for a person to compare swift vdi with an auto, its one of da least noisy diesel cars in da world as on date. its a rare blend of fine looks n awesome power n mileage. the interior might b a bit ordinary, but considering the fact that the car is launched some 4 years back the interiors can b rated as decent. swift is really "owner's pride n neighbour's envy".
